Musical style and performance [ edit ]
Influences [ edit ]
Paparizou says that her parents had no musical background, and the only person in her family who sang was her paternal grandmother, who influenced her to sing. Paparizou's first musical experiences were international protest music. Her musical roots are in traditional Greek music such as laiko and rebetiko, and she was exposed to the music of Vasilis Tsitsanis, Markos Vamvakaris, Stelios Kazanzidis, Mimis Preisas, and Giannis Spanos.[5][7]As a teenager, she listened to a wide range of music, including R& B and soul.[160]Her biggest influences were female pop singers such as Madonna, Celine Dion, Tina Turner, and Janet Jackson. [8] She was later influenced by frequent collaborator Paschalis Terzis, who taught her to improve her technical vocal skills. Paschalis Terzis has also said that she has been a big fan of the Eurovision Song Contest for many years, even before she first participated in the contest in 2001.
During the solo activity, Papalizoo changed his musical style from Raica to pop and rock style. [41] Some critics say that this is a lack of personal style, not as an artistic expression, but a trend for commercial success. [161] [162] Papalizu is known for following the trend of international female pop stars. After her Eurovision win, Paparizou's popularity increased and she was often promoted by the media as a pop singer. In his review of the Euro album Protereotita, Pavlos Zervas of Music Corner was impressed with the album and said that its contemporary style could become an international hit, and that recording in English would better support the singer. In his review of Iparhi Logos, Zervas stated that, apart from Greek pop performer Sakis Rouvas, Paparizou is the only artist in Greece who supports the pop/dance genre so well. She also said that she can make a hit no matter what she sings. With Paparizou, she showed that she doesn't need big-name producers like Giorgos Theophanous or Phoebus to create a hit. Zervas said that the numerous covers are a strength of the album, and that "Gigolo" features "witty" lyrics in a general pattern that follows the success of "Mambo!". The album features "witty" lyrics in an overall pattern that follows the success of her previous hits such as "I'm Not Here" and "I'm Not Here". She said that the album's pop songs contrasted with the pop songs, making her sound unfocused.[168]Paparizou on the Fisika Mazi tour in Athens, June 30, 2010.
Paparizou's second English album, The Game of Love, was expected by Greek consumers and had a similar sound to Iparhi Logos. Zervas also criticized the album, stating that it included a variety of styles, including dance, hip hop, slow jams, and Latin, and followed a typical American music formula. Zervas stated that no international pop singers had surpassed Paparizou and that the success of the album all depended on the promotional efforts, which did not impress the record companies with which she works internationally. Zerva's impression was that while he believed in the potential of the material, if Paparizou continued with her current trends and style at Laiko nightclub, her ambitions for an international career would be thwarted. [161]
In Virisco's fourth album, Logo Na Zo, Papalizu minimized the influence of Rico, and unlike the previous albums, it turned into a pop / roc k-like sound and image. Evianna Nicolelli, the music corner, said that the album was carefully made and a European good production. In GIRO APO T 'ONEIRO, Papalizu worked with the same team as two years ago and added minor changes. She emphasized the image created in the previous work. There are many songs affected by rock, and there are songs that include danceable pops, pop forks, electronic, and salon music elements, but overall is the theme of pop. [169] [170]
Vocal style [ edit ]
Papalizoo is writing two songs on all studio albums, except for iParhi Logos. Also, antique songs "What? Most of these lyrics activities were collaborated with at least one other songwriter. Treli Kardia" (Protereotita), "CARPE DIEM", "TEARDROPS" (The Game of) " Love), "Mathe Prota N'Agapas" (Vrisko in The Na Zo Logo) is in charge of lyrics, "DEN THA 'MAI' Do" Filarakia "(GIRO APO T 'ONEIRO) is in charge of the first solo lyrics [171].4Papalizoo has the vocal range of meso soprano. From young to 2005, she was C6I was singing in B ♭.
[172] Timbrehas's vocals were described as "deep, sensual", "dramatic" and "metallic". [173] [174] [175] Critics have often discussed which Rica or Pop Materials fits her voice. Some genres are as good as her, but Greek critics tend to prefer pop, dance repertoire, and English repertoons. This is one of the causes of Papalizu's Swedish raising and the expectations of her victory. Her English accent, which grew up abroad, was different from that of Greek's native language. [166] [167] [168] [176] Western music native listeners are contrary to this view. Sweden's Swedish Sawenka Dagbradette critic Dan Buckman is not the exception of the law that Papalizu is also a rule that music artists can hear most in their native language, and his vocal performance is "expressive" in Greek. In English, he described it as "mild". He is also the most suitable for her voice, such as "STING KARDIA MOU MONO THLIPSI", "I ZOI SOU ZARI", "M'ANANGALIAZEI in SKOTADI", "O, TI AXIZI II STIGMES" I chose it consistently. She says, "The dramatic nerves may be suitable for this style." [174] [177]
Nitro magazine writers are skeptical of Papalizu's musical abilities, and recognizes that her image and the help of support singers play an important role in Papalizoo in an article titled "If the world was fair." He wrote that it should be done [178]. [178] Pavloss Zelvas, the music corner, is enthusiastic about her voice. He states in the Euro Edition EP that she was "adapted" and was "flexible" from ballads to uptempo. [176] Georgia Limu's reviewer, Elev Terrios, did not agree with Zelvus. Rimu felt that her performance was monotonous and lacked nuances between songs and style. She also stated that the narrow range of Papalizoo means that a set of similar notes must be repeated. [179] [179] The exaggerated expression of Papalizu, especially the shouting, became a general complaint with age. [161] [162] [179] [180] Roymou said, especially after the Eurovision's championship, Papalizu sang with new confidence and strength. [179] In 2008, the critics noticed her voice improvement and stated that the album "Vrisko on Logo Na Zo" contains her best vocal performance. [161]

Compared to the simplified melody, Vurisco of Logo Na Zoo presented a more difficult material by Papalizoo. [181] However, as the difficulty of the song increased, the lack of voice and the treble needed to push out the voice further, resulting in the exaggeration voice of her. Most critics agree that her "intense" performance reduces the quality of the song, but sometimes her style plays a role in enhancing entertainment. Calamalis said that her album in 2008 and 2010 was so boring and mediocre that Papalizu wrote, "I was able to bring my life to the most boring song in her singing." In antique careers, Papalizu was a simple look that lacked a style, symbolizing a young girl. After solo, it shifted to a more feminine and sexy style. [41] Papalizoo was known for wearing highly exposed clothes, contrasting with the image of a good child. [13] Her look was hot pants and showed her legs, her most important physical characteristics. [183] She was wearing a mini dress and a 5-inch high heel. [7] Papalizu adopted a roc k-inspired image to advertise the Vurisco album released by the logo Na Zo, and appeared aggressively in dark tone clothing and makeup. [184] The look was completed with multiple earrings, including ears, tongue, and especially nostrils, and she wore a wire chain attached to the piercing.
According to Evianna Nikoleri, Papalizu is following the simultaneous trend that a female pop / Raika singer spreads rock images, which emits Despina Vandy. Avopolis's Makis Calamalis also stated that Papalizu's new image was for success in the mainstream rather than an artistic expression, and Papaizu is aware of his limits, but suddenly rocky. Instead of performing Persona, he added that he was gradually familiar. Calamari is also the only Greek singer who can imitate international women's trends without singing in Clones in Sukiradiko or making clones like Madonna. He said that she was standing out to the scene. [185] Giannis Marketakis, Papalizoo's makeup artist, states that Papalizu has always given his opinion on his looks and fashion and follows fashion trends. [184] Papalizoo states that he will avoid extreme things in choosing his fashion. [175] In the bargaining of love, Papalizoo praised the achievements of fashion and stylist Al Giga, who made himself liked himself, and has provided most of her wardrobes since the Eurobision in 2005. He also praises his achievements. [186]
