Overall, I think this book is very well written and comprehensive in scope. However, I think there are two areas that could be improved. I think there are two things that are missing. The first is on the connective tissue/peritoneal system. Fascia is mentioned briefly in the microscopic description of muscle fibers, but there is no outline of its importance as a force transmission system (i. e. biotensegrity), as well as a means of tactile perception and tracking. Also, in his description of muscles, he doesn't make it clear that muscles are attached to tendons (he says so elsewhere, but not in his description of origins and attachments, which is a common mistake).

The text matches the purpose and content of each chapter (subdivided composition), and finally posts important terms, review of important terms, interesting dialogue link problems, and suggestive critical thinking issues. This keeps the internal consistency. Review questions have many mult i-selection format, but it would be useful to diversify the format of the problem and incorporate a lot of knowledge checkpoints throughout the text. Rather than testing knowledge, this approach is promoting the involvement of students in the content, despite the focus on applying.

The images in this book are simple, without excessive highlighting, and focus on important details so that students are not distracted or overwhelmed with too much information.

This manual can serve as a "dry-read" before class because concepts are presented in a simple way that does not require extensive prior knowledge to understand the text. This makes it different from complicated books with excessive material. Although it is useful as a reference, it often overwhelms students with complex ideas and a string of medical and anatomical terms, which leads to frustration rather than active engagement with the material. The index is comprehensive and contains a link to the appropriate part in the text. The chapter of the cardiovascular system (CV) was higher, more comprehensive than the chapter of muscle tissue, and CVs were superior to the numbers and ease of understanding. As an example, the muscle chapter lacked the integrity of excitement-shrinking coupling, explanation of sarcomere band and protein, relationship between power and frequency, and muscle fibers. However, a trainer will be able to add these details. The biography section had many useful tables. However, the muscle tissue had no table, and in many cases, the table increased to understand, and the large parts of the sentence were divided. It would have been convenient if there were the following table: Comparison between muscle fibromy type and muscle type. There were also diagrams that lack important details such as 10, 8 and 10, 16. The number of charts is more common in the CV chapter, but some have been omitted, such as the graph of the Frank-Starling curve and the shift of curves due to changes in contraction force. This is one of the characteristics of resume physiology, and it is difficult for students to understand this relationship without a graph. The basic term section is more accurate and comprehensive than a muscle tissue.

Similar to integrity, the accuracy of CV capital is higher than muscle capital. In the muscle chapter, there are some cases where important details that lead to inaccurate are missing. For example, the description of eccentric contraction and treppe. Treppe is part of the relationship between force and frequency, which looks like an independent process. There is also a contradiction to use only the word muscle compared to myocardial muscles, skeletal muscles, and smooth muscles. This chapter mainly describes skeletal muscles. The term skeletal muscles may be used, or simply the term muscle is used. In general, it should be more consistent, although it is natural. An example of inaccuracy in the CV chapter is that HR rises to 150 bpm for young religious people, but in many cases, as described in the next section, HR is 180-200 bpm or maximum HR. It rises to nearby.

This text covers all the main systems of the typical anatomy physiology course, and the order is similar to the conventional text. Details are generally appropriate for undergraduat e-level anatomy physiology courses. But this is not always the case with all systems. In this review, we covered the overall format of textbooks, but focused on physiology (because of anatomy is another course and instructor at our university), especially Chapter 10 and 19-. Chapter 20 Equity blood jurisdiction: The heart and blood vessels/ circulation have been taken up. All chapters include learning goals, important terms (bold in text), chapters reviews, and various types of questions. Since the answer to the question is not provided, the students cannot receive feedback directly. It was up to the instructor to give the key. The Key Terms section had no sufficient details in some examples, and had some wrong (or incomplete) definitions.

My only constructive criticism of integrity is that most AP and related textbooks can be said, but at least for anatomical and physiological systems that are particularly unique, the final explanation is easy. To give a detailed explanation, it will be useful for students. The evolved background and the comparative anatomical outlook between humans and no n-human primates are the basis for better understanding of human brain and metabolism.

The artwork is clear, and the author's approach, which minimizes the variation of colors and structures, is an effective graphic. However, using the search box for "Search This Book" is convenient for searching for terms. The topic is suitable for a 200 0-level course. The first and second graders who take the course as the first scientific course will be eligible. Although the topics are easy to understand, some students need more detailed explanations because some students have no general knowledge of biology. Illustrations, figures, and tables are easy to understand and logically arranged. However, anatomy physiology classes have many visual elements, so there may be some more supplements.

The learning results are listed at the beginning of each chapter. The explanation is clear and easy to understand. The terms and concepts are clarified using the table and diagrams. An alternative term for cells and structures is described. For example, Radich cells are in the testes, so they have an alias called intermediate cells. At the end of each chapter, it would be useful for students if there were answers for reviews and questions for critical thinking. This book does not describe some topics deeply, but it is also an opportunity for instructors to add information in notebooks and lectures. It is also a good idea to supplement the text explanation using a video.

The first three modules (organizational level, support and motivation, adjustment / integration / control) can be covered in the first semester of the second semester course. Many students studying anatomy physiology are visual learners, so adding images in this textbook will help students find the text they are looking for. However, the figure and table are numbered. For example, chap. 14. 1 is a sensory receptor, chap. 2 is a sensory modality.

The interface is well made. The image is not distorted, but the size of the image is not constant. Some elements are too large on the page, and some elements are small, so you can't read the structure or label. Overall, I am not a big fan of this book. While this book seems to cover most of the content of the textbook that you would find in any other typical college A& P textbook, this book does not have many aesthetically pleasing figures and pictures to match the text. This book follows a fairly standard order for anatomy physiology. The teaching materials are configured so that they can be easily referenced, but I don't think it is necessary in most medical departments. Actual examples, applying ideas, case studies are included in boxes and sidebars, so it is very easy to enlarge, delete, and change without significant revisions in the text.

Overall, I think this book is a bit special in each chapter, but is well organized. For example, in the "Instructor / Muscle Learning" chapter, detailed technical terms are often used, and they are almost immediately discussed and defined (or refined) in multiple paragraphs. Therefore, it may be difficult for beginners to follow this chapter. Nevertheless, the intrusion of each chapter is a good motivation for the teaching materials, making it easier to transfer to different topics. The text is easy to read, not too specialized, and is written in eas y-t o-read sentences. However, despite the fact that the term is introduced, it may not seem to be completely defined, or may not be bold when it is first defined. The definition at the end of the chapter may have more or less details than when it is defined in the text.

The author has made a clear effort to modular each chapter, and most of the parts have been successful. However, I think it is somewhat misplaced to evaluate this book based on these standards. A & amp; P teaching materials are based on prior information, so there are limited modules. For example, it is impossible to effectively present muscle and nervous physiology without repeating the same concept (eg, activated potential). Therefore, in at least one chapter, the explanation of a specific concept is redundant and lacks details.

In this book, the learning goals of each chapter are very comprehensive. In addition, it is divided into learning goals for each lesson in each chapter. This is very useful because I use my daily learning goals not only in LMS pages but also in classrooms. There is an important glossary after each chapter, not the end of the book. In places, I felt the learning objectives didn't cover everything in the unit, so it felt a bit like text was added to make it more comprehensive. But it also made it hard to see where it was going. So I think it would have been better if it was cut down into more digestible chunks (i. e. more subsections, not more numbered sections).

The interface is very good. However, I was a bit bothered by the Openstax banner at the bottom of every page (in the online version) offering to order a print copy.

Anatomy is very thorough and an excellent resource. I thoroughly compared the content with my $180 anatomy textbook for my course and it was just as comprehensive as the expensive Pearson textbook. In fact, there were some details that even the paid textbook didn't have, such as deeper (or clearer) explanations of certain body systems and anatomical structures. Anatomy and physiology are inseparable, so they are best taught together. Unfortunately, in my current classes, I use Voll, Wesker's Clinical Anatomy (3rd ed.) It uses a terrible separate textbook, the OU Physiology, 9th ed. (ed.), which not only confuses students but also makes the material random and superficial. This textbook is missing a lot of material, and I supplemented it with an open source A& P textbook. I used a separate physiology textbook that was much better (Human Physiology, From Cells to Systems, 9th ed. Sherwood, Cengage Learning). However, the structure and content are faithful to the OU anatomy and physiology textbook, and both are included, so you should only use the FREE one.

If you are a student with an experience of biology and anatomy, you can read each section with confidence, but for the first time reading this teaching material, it will be a little difficult to understand terms and technical terms at once. 。 For beginners, it will be very useful to combine additional materials and this book to understand technical terms.

This text is consistent internally, so it is easy to understand for those who are unfamiliar with anatomy physiology or those who are looking for a digested review. It is also useful for an index configuration that allows you to quickly search for specific topics.

Since each topic and subtopic are compact, it is easy to reorganize and expand. It is regularly added from OpenStax other text (Biology 2e and Psychology) to enhance students' knowledge. The section from these texts is easy to introduce in the context of the contents of this book.

Sentences and illustrations refer to various races, ethnic groups and backgrounds. Most of the text discusses the elements of the body, not as a whole, but this is unusual.

A huge amount of jargon is presented and the context is either nonexistent or ineffective, especially in the early chapters, because students have not yet been exposed to concepts necessary to understand the context presented. I think this leaves students unsure of which information is truly prioritizing. The "homeostatic imbalance" feature in the early chapters also uses concepts and terminology that have not yet been introduced. Perhaps including them in these later chapters would be better suited to help students truly understand the value of the examples and would be less frustrating for students.

While there were no inaccuracies in the textbook, the ALT text is often inaccurate or incomplete. In the early chapters, the ALT text describes pictures by referring to concepts that have not yet been introduced. Also, there are no hyperlinks for visually impaired students to look up terms and concepts. Additionally, the ALT text uses clipping (use of color to illustrate images) which is confusing and unnecessary.

This text introduces many new terms quickly and provides little in the way of applicable framework. Decompression sickness is introduced early to explain pressure in general, but this would be a waste for our population, as no real discussion of gas laws, solubility, or altitude/atmospheric pressure occurs until the respiratory chapter. I think the amount of jargon introduced before contextual material is explored is a source of frustration for students. In some chapters, the author jumps from topic to topic, and you can't see the relevance until later in the paragraph or chapter. I often found myself wondering, "Why is this topic being introduced here?" I think this is confusing.

There is almost no consistency. Each chapter seems to have been written by a separate author. One chapter has succeeded in presenting the material slowly and in a way that is easy to digest, but the other chapters are limited. Some chapters start with several basic terms, and gradually deepen their understanding while adding new terms little by little. In the first few paragraphs, some students try to introduce everything they have needed and more.

I agree that this text can be easily divided into a small section from the context table. What I think is a problem is that concepts and terms are often introduced in a previous section and are not reconnected in the appropriate section or not being reviewed sufficiently. The author seems to be assumed that the reader is ready to read the previous explanation, and is ready to use information satisfactorily. I think the use of hyperlinks is very useful for improving this problem.

The students of our school are very diverse, and there are many students with English as the second foreign language, firs t-generation students, and visual impairment. Perhaps this text will be a more effective tool if you are a very diverse group and have achieved great success in traditional classrooms. Excellent text is a wonderful source of information like a educated friend. The text that gives students information, rather than accumulating information slowly is destructive. If you get frustrated by the tool, you will be distracted.

These can help students understand the relevance and become more interested in topics. This text follows the typical configuration used in most A & amp; pass system manuals. Each chapter begins with the purpose and introduction of the whole chapter and is well configured. The section of each chapter also starts with the purpose, includes descriptions of intake, constant imbalance, interaction connections, and daily connections. At the end of each chapter, there are lists and definitions of important terms, and there are issues such as reviews, interactive links, reviews, and critical thinking. It is a wel l-organized textbook overall.

I felt that the interface was working well. There was a big gap between the text and many images, and there was a large margin left. The image is appropriate (except for what is described later in a cultural headline), and the resolution is high even if it is expanded. The table was useful.

It may be necessary to update to include recent exciting anatomical new knowledge, but it does not seem to be excessively old.

In some chapters, technical terms are often used, but students are not easy to use. As a result, some students were unable to access teaching materials and were in trouble.

The teaching materials related to the previous equipment system have become a better introductory material, and the introduction of the terms is easier to understand. This framework is not available in chapters that handle the concepts (liquids and acoustic equilibrium) that students are not good at.

Important terms are displayed in bold. Anatomy physiology textbooks have a very large vocabulary, so it is important to focus on technical terms like this.

The glossary of each chapter is substantial and the index is good. There are some parts that feel that it is not fully explained, such as a tube in a male reproductive organs. Many of the glands that produce sperm are mentioned, but the role of urethra in sperm transport is not clearly mentioned. It was very good that many chapters on physical illness and disability were in many chapters, but there are some places where I was surprised that the disability had not been taken up. For example, in the digestion chapter, if there was a discussion about gallstones in the gallbladder section, it would have been wonderful because many students are familiar with this health problem. In this way, the option of having no obstacles in other sections, including disability, does not impair the accuracy of text, but this is a bit more consistent in discussions on disability. I think the text will be better.

In general, I think it is well divided by section. The electronic version is particularly excellent, with different sections on different pages, and you can click between them. However, there are many text block pages without pictures, so it may be troublesome for some readers.

The topic can be a reasonable order. For example, discussions on the four organizational types and their characteristics are held before each organs. This text uses a logical and simple approach in the order of topics.

There are also places where images should have been included but were not. For example, I think Daily Connections/Disruptions. The parts in the various organ systems are a great idea. Understanding how disease disrupts homeostasis helps learn how typical organ systems function. However, many of the diseases covered do not have any illustrations or photos. For example, kidney disease, the effects of secondhand smoke, and infant respiratory distress syndrome would be great places to include illustrations to deepen student understanding, but these and many other diseases do not have pictures. There are also several places where the text is chunked together and would benefit from illustrations.

Overall, this text covers every field expected for the text of A & amp; amp; p. It is comparable to many other common texts. However, there are some parts that I want you to write a little more. One of them is an endocrine chapter. There is information about the receptor, but not so much. It's just a little lack of details compared to other books, and it's not enough to use it, so you'll still use this book in class. Some chapters have a video that accompanies the topic, which is wonderful. I like to use a video to teach a lot of moving processes (such as muscle contraction, release of neurotransmitters, etc.).

Many free content in the world has a mang a-like figure and tends to be completely accurate, but I am very satisfied with the diagrams in this manual (that is the skeleton. System and muscle system). The quality is the same as a book to pay and buy. I am grateful for students to link to animation and video. Click on the web URL to see the animation (PDF P. 25) in the metabolic process (Adobe Flash must be enabled). However, when I scanned the QR code using a barcode scanner, my mobile phone did not open the animation (compared to the listed URL link, the web address seems to be wrong). In the URL link of the next QR code and the text P. 22, a YouTube video was opened as well as a personal computer. Interactive thumbnails are definitely positive in using this manual. The text was clear and coherent, but sometimes too simplistic. I would have liked a bit more jargon so students would be more comfortable incorporating it into everyday conversations.

In general, I felt that this text was comprehensive as A / P in the undergraduate school. There were some parts that could be explained a little more in detail, such as the anatomy of the eyes, the function of a specific brain structure such as the cerebellum. The abundance of case studies and insertion materials can be concentrated most importantly. The summary of the glossary and the main topic is excellent, and you can quickly review it when you return to a chapter.

I think the shelf life of this book is long. The overall understanding of human anatomy and physiology does not progress so fast at the level of at least first and fourth graders. The fields that can be updated / updated may be interactive links and insertion of disease case research. However, they can change quickly and effectively without significantly changing the contents of the entire text. The most impressive was interactive links, insertion of disease/ disability, number and diversity of case studies. These are very useful for understanding what students are learning and why it is important to learn it.

I was surprised at the difference because all art was drawn on the same criteria.  I prefer to use a hard copy printout. That way I can refer to the figures and text at the same time without scrolling back and forth, and I can refer to them even when I'm not connected to the Internet or my connection is poor. The PDF version does not have page numbers, which makes it difficult to find related material listed in the table of contents or index. The figures and tables are not well referenced in the text. However, on some pages in the printed copy, the image and text are not on the same page, and on other pages there is a bit of space.

 The book has some minor grammar errors. Some sentences are not concise and can be confusing, but they are not misleading or a hindrance to learning.
 
 Cultural appropriateness rating: 5
 
 The anatomy and physiology questions apply to many species, including humans. It is not uncommon for cultural and ethnic information to be missing in textbooks at this level. The book is culturally sensitive. It also includes pictures and drawings of diseases that affect certain genders, ages, races, and ethnicities, as well as people of different races. Students and educators, especially medical professionals, will appreciate these examples that include various genders, racial, and ethnic backgrounds.
 
 This manual includes topics in both anatomy and physiology. Overall, it is a great teaching and learning resource. Most departments and institutions teach the two topics separately, so materials use parts of this book only where appropriate. Although this book simplifies difficult concepts and makes them easier to understand, it may lack depth and thoroughness compared to other textbooks. Also, this book is perfect for undergraduate introductory and applied science courses in physiology, but not for biology majors as it does not include much research content. Also, the problem set would be ideal for instructors.

 I compared this open source book to another widely used commercial textbook. In comparison, OpenStax's Anatomy and Physiology is less comprehensive. All major areas are covered (cells, bones, muscles, nervous system, etc.), but the molecular details of many physiological processes are omitted or poorly covered. Some chapters have more molecular and mechanistic detail than others (or some topics do but not others), perhaps reflecting the multiple authors of the book. However, all the extensive A& P topics required are covered.
 
 Content Accuracy: 4
 
 The content of this book is mostly accurate. Again, I compare it to a widely used textbook from a reputable publisher. Admittedly, there were some errors in the OpenStax textbook. But the commercial textbook had a similar number and type of errors. None of these are found in the OpenStax textbook, as far as I can observe.
 
 Relative/Longevity: 4
 
 OpenStax I believe that OpenStax's Anatomy and Physiology text has adequate relevance and longevity. It is not written in a way that would require extensive editing to update. The text is well-relevant to the current generation of users by providing many embedded links. However, not all of these links work. Perhaps removing the web links in a future version would increase the longevity of the text. Inserting text boxes could easily be used to highlight applied concepts rather than web links.

 Compared to other commercial textbooks I have used, OpenStax's Anatomy and Physiology is easy to understand and therefore more accessible to my students (community college). This book is completely free of technical jargon. My students find this very helpful and the text is easy to read and understand.

 The modularity of this manual is excellent. The text is easily divided into units and chapters, allowing for appropriate groupings for effective teaching and testing. The text is organized into enough subsections and breaks are given between topics during reading so that students do not become overwhelmed by the amount and volume of material presented.
 
 Organization/Division/Role
 
 The structure and flow of this text is one of my complaints. Several of my colleagues have the same complaint. Other commercial textbooks on anatomy and physiology that I have used were better organized. As a whole, the section/chapter structure is fine, except for section 3, "Setup, Integration, and Control." Chapters 12 through 15 could have been better organized. Chapter 12 is about nervous organization, Chapter 13 is about the anatomy of the nervous system, Chapter 14 is about the somatic nervous system, and Chapter 15 is about the autonomic nervous system. To me, this structure doesn't make sense and only confuses students. I have decided to teach this material as "topics" rather than chapters, and have organized the information into (1) nervous organization and physiology, (2) the brain, and (3) the spinal cord. I think this structure works better for students. I also have problems with the structure of the chapters in this textbook. The flow of information is often closed, and it would be better to reorganize and present it in a different way. Interface rating: 4

 To be honest, I was not reading this textbook with a focus on cultural relevance, but rather on the content of the class, and I did not have any issues with the cultural relevance of this textbook.
 
 This text has another important problem, and this criticism has not been featured. Compared to other commercial textbooks I have used, Openstax Anatome and Physiology images are not enough to provide effective classes. First, the number of images is not enough to properly communicate difficult topics to students. OpenStax A & amp; amp; P I think you need about 5 more (at least) for one image. Second, the quality of the available images is insufficient. Many images are not enough to provide enough information for students to study. Also, for educational purposes, images are not high resolution that can be used optimally with power points.

 This text is very comprehensive and contains all the traditional system approaches for teaching anatomy and physiology. Each chapter is clearly divided into the structural components and the characteristics of the organs, functions, physiological processes, and each organs. The table of contents, index, and glossaries are also easy to understand and effective!
 
 Accuracy of content: 4
 
 I reviewed each chapter superficially, but especially Chapter 21: The lymph system, immune system, and adaptation reactions as immune processes are not easy for second graders, and many textbooks are revitalizing T cells. The process is too simplified. Many textbooks are too simplified the processes of T cell activation, and their explanations are very simplified. The explanation of the T cell receptor and the MHC complex was accurate and wonderful. The genetic explanation is insufficient about how cells with a specific TCR of millions can be made, but it is not a theme of lectures on anatomy physiology in second graders. As a whole, it was very accurate and sufficient.

 As long as there is a way to guarantee a regular update, it should not be so difficult to do it.

 This book is very easy to understand. The immunological term in Chapter 21 is very important in understanding the interaction of different natural immune cells and specific/ adaptive cell types and crosstalk. I felt that it was easy for students of this level to understand.

 The jargon and structure / frameworks were very consistent, so I imagined that OER would be difficult, so it was very good.
 
 Module
 
 The book is very similar to the module, which is very similar to OER, and its index is suitable for readers for sections and subsets that make relevant topics easier.
