App Review Guidelines - Apple Developer

App Review Guidelines

The app has changed the world, enriches people's lives, and enables developers like you. As a result, the app store has grown into an exciting and vibrant ecosystem for millions of developers and more than 1 billion users. I am very pleased that both those who are developing apps and many experienced developers can develop apps on our platform.

Display of notary examination guidelines

Introduction

  • We have many apps downloading many apps. Pair rental control is very effective to protect children, but it also has that role. So we know we are looking at the children.
  • App Store is a great way to reach hundreds of millions of people around the world. If you want to make an app that you want to show to your family or friends, the App Store is not the best way. Consider installing Xcode to install the app on your device for free or using an ad hoc distribution that Apple's developer program members use. If you are starting to start, please see the details of the Apple Developer Program.
  • We respect users with different opinions and strongly support all opinions expressed in the App Store as long as the quality of the app experience is high. The app is rejected for the content and actions we have determined that it is out of the line. What kind of line is it? As the Supreme Court once said, "you can see it." We believe you know it when you go beyond that line.
  • If you try to use the system illegally (for example, if you try to use the screening process illegally, if you try to plagiarize the user data, or try to copy the works of other developers, you will detect rating and application storage. If you try to manipulate). Your application will be deleted from the store and removed from Apple Developer Program.
  • The developper is responsible for confirming that all of the apps, including advertising networks, analysis services, and thir d-party SDKs are compliant with these guidelines, are in the developer, check them and select them carefully.
  • Specific functions and technologies that are generally not available by developers may be provided as a right for a limited case. For example, we provide the rights for CarPlay Audio, hypervisor, and privileged file functions.

We hope that this guidance will help you in the examination process, and the approval and rejection will be consistent overall. This is a living document, and new applications and new questions can always create new rules. Maybe your application will trigger that. We love this material and pay tribute to your activities. We are really working to express your talent and make the world's best platforms to make a living.

Before You Submit

Check the general mistakes that delay the screening process and cause rejection so that your application will be approved as smoothly as possible. This is a good start to make sure you can check all items in the list, although it is neither an instruction or a guarantee of the approval. If the app does not work as intended or does not provide aggressive support, it will be deleted from the App Store. Click here for more information about enhancing the App Store function.

  • Test the app for bugs or errors
  • Make sure that all app information and metadata are perfect and accurate.
  • Update your contacts in case you need to be contacted by Application Review.
  • Provide a full access to the app to App Review. If the app contains accoun t-based functions, one of the active trial accounts or complete demo mode, other materials and resources (login authentication information, sample QR code, etc., etc. that may be needed for app testing). ) Please provide).
  • Enable the support service so that you can access live during the test.

1. Safety

When people install an app from the App Store, they want to be confident that the app is safe: it does not contain disturbing or offensive content, will not harm their device, and will not cause physical harm as a result of using it. We've summarized the main pitfalls below, but apps that shock or offend people are not suitable for the App Store. Some of these rules are also included in the iOS app label.

  • 1. 1 Unacceptable Content Apps should not contain content that is offensive, sensitive, upsetting, disgusting, in extremely bad taste, or simply creepy. Examples of such content include:
    • 1. 1. 1 Instructive, discriminatory, or spiteful content that is likely to humiliate, intimidate, or harm a targeted individual or group, especially references or comments about religion, race, sexual orientation, sex, national/ethnic origin, or other targeted groups. Professional political satirists and humorists are typically exempt from this requirement.
    • 1. 1. 2 Realistic depictions of people or animals being killed, held captive, tortured, or abused, or content that promotes violence. The "enemy" in the context of the game cannot be solely a race, culture, real government, corporation, or other real entity.
    • 1. 1. 3 Depictions that encourage the illegal or reckless use of weapons or dangerous objects, or promote the purchase of firearms or ammunition.
    • 1. 1. 4 Previously sexual or pornographic material, defined as "explicit depictions or displays of sexual organs or acts intended to stimulate erotic rather than aesthetic or emotional feelings." This includes "pick-up" apps and other apps that may contain pornography or may be used to promote prostitution or human trafficking/exploitation.
    • 1. 1. 5 Sensational religious commentary, or inaccurate or misleading references to religious texts.
    • 1. 1. 6 Fake information or characteristics, including inaccurate device data or trick/joke features such as fake location trackers. Stating that an app is "entertainment" does not exceed this guideline. Apps that allow users to opt out of anonymous or prank messages or SMS/MMS messages.
    • 1. 1. 7 Harmful concepts that exploit or attempt to take advantage of recent or current events such as violent conflicts, terrorist attacks, or epidemics.
    • How you filter unacceptable content from being posted to your application.
    • A mechanism to report uncomfortable content and timely response to concerns
    • A function to block malicious users from services
    • Public contact that users can easily contact

Services that are used for apps that include use r-generated content, mainly porn content, chat roulette experience, objectiveization of real people (eg, voting for goo d-looking, physical intimidation, bullying). , Not eligible for the App Store and may be deleted without notice. If your app includes content created by users from we b-based services, you can display random and mature "NSFW" content. However, the content is hidden by default, and it is only displayed when the user activates through your website.

    • 1. 2. 1 The creator content application, which is characterized by content from a specific user community called "Creator", is a great chance if it is appropriately alleviated. These apps provide unique and unified experiences for customers to interact with various types of creator content. These apps provide tools and programs that support creators who are not programmers, creating authoring, sharing, and revenue of use r-generation experience. These experience does not change the characteristics and functions of the native application, but rather add content to these structured experiences. These experiences are not native "app" coded by developers, but are satisfied in the app itself and is treated as use r-generated content by app reviews. This creator content includes video, articles, audio, and occasional games. The App Store supports apps that provide this use r-generated content as long as you follow all guidelines, including guidelines 1. 2 on the easing use r-generated content, i n-app bills and i n-app purchases, and i n-app purchases. Creator applications must share the rating of the old age application.
    • 1. 4. 1 Medical applications that may provide incorrect data or information, or medical applications that may be used for patient diagnosis or treatment can be more strictly examined.
      • If the application needs to clearly disclose data and methods that support the accuracy of health indicators, and cannot verify the level or method of accuracy, reject the application. For example, an application that claims to measure X-ray, blood pressure, body temperature, blood sugar, and blood oxygen concentration is not allowed, for example, using only the sensor mounted on the device.
      • Apps should remind users to check with their doctor before using the app or making any medical decisions.

      2. Performance

      • 2. 1 App Completeness
        • (a) App Review submissions, including pre-orderable apps, should be final with all required metadata and fully functional URLs. Clean up state text, licensed web pages, and other temporary content before submission. Also include demo account information (and backend services enabled!) if your application contains links. If you are unable to provide a demo account due to legal or security obligations, you may include built-in demo functionality in place of a demo account with Apple's prior approval. Demo mode should display all app functionality. We will reject incomplete app bundles or binaries that crash or have obvious technical issues.
        • (b) If you offer in-app purchases in your app, make sure they are complete, up-to-date, visible to reviewers, and functional. If in-app purchase items cannot be found or reviewed in the app, please explain why in the review notes.
        • 2. 3. 1
          • (a) Your application should not include hidden, dormant, or atypical features. Your application’s functionality must be clear to end users and application reviewers. All new features, functionality, and product changes must be specifically described in the App Store Connect Review Notes section (general descriptions will be discarded) and accessible for review. Similarly, selling your app in a deceptive manner, such as promoting content or services you do not actually offer (such as a virus scanner or iOS-based malware) or advertising false prices, whether inside or outside the app store, is grounds for removal of your app from the App Store or blocking installation through alternative distribution, and termination of your developer account.
          • (b) Severe or repeated conduct is grounds for removal from the Apple Developer Program. We work hard to make the App Store a trusted ecosystem and expect all app developers to follow suit. If you’re dishonest, we don’t want to work with you.
          • 2. 4. 1 To ensure people can get the most out of your app, iPhone apps should run on iPads whenever possible. We encourage you to consider building your app so that your customers can use it on all their devices.
          • 2. 4. 2 Design your application to use energy efficiently and use it in a way that does not risk damaging the device. Your application must not rapidly drain the battery, generate excessive heat, or put unnecessary pressure on the device's pores. For example, your application should not encourage placing the device under a mattress or pillow while charging, or running excessive recording cycles on a solid-state drive. Your application must not run unrelated background processes, such as crypto mining, including any third-party ads displayed within it.
          • 2. 4. 3 People should be able to use the Apple TV app without needing a Siri game controller or any non-third-party hardware input, but you may provide enhanced functionality when other peripherals are connected. If a game controller is required, clearly explain that in your metadata so that customers know they need additional hardware to play.
          • 2. 4. 4 Your application must never suggest or request that the device be rebooted or that any system settings be changed that are unrelated to the application's core functionality. For example, you should not encourage users to turn off Wi-Fi or disable security features.
          • 2. 4. 5 Applications distributed through the Mac App Store have some additional requirements to keep in mind:
            • (i) They must be properly sandboxed and follow the macOS File System documentation.
            • (ii) They must be packaged and submitted using technologies provided in Xcode.
            • (iii) They must not automatically launch or run other code at startup or login without consent, or continue to run playback processes after the user exits without consent, and they must not automatically add icons to the dock or leave shortcuts on the user's desktop.
            • (iv) They must not download or install standalone applications, KEXTS, or additional code or resources to add functionality or significantly change the application from what we saw during the review process.
            • (iv) They must not download or install standalone applications, KEXTS, or additional code or resources to add functionality or significantly change the application from what we saw during the review process.
            • (v ... additional code or resources to add functionality or significantly change the application from what we saw during the review process. (v) It must not require root scaling or use setuid functionality.
            • (vi) It must not display a license screen at launch, require a license key, or implement its own copy protection.
            • (vii) It must use the Mac App Store to distribute updates. No other update mechanisms are permitted.

            • (IX) Applications must include all languages and localization support in a single application bundle.
            • 2. 5. 1 The application can only use the public API and run on the dispatch system. Click here for public APIs. Keep your applications in the latest state and ensure that you are not supported by the future version of the operating system, frameworks, or technologies. The application must be used for the intended purpose of the API and framework, and must be integrated in the application description. For example, the Homekit framework needs to provide a home automation service. HealthKit is also used for health and fitness purposes and must be integrated into a health application.
            • 2. 5. 2 The application must be sel f-contained within the bundle and cannot read or write data from the specified container area. You can also download, install, or execute code that introduces or changes the features and functions of the application, including other applications. Educational applications designed so that students can educate, develop, or test the code will download code on a limited situation, on condition that such code is not used for other purposes. You can. Such applications must fully visualize the source code provided by the application so that users can edit them.
            • 2. 5. 3 The application that sends viruses, files, computers, or programs that may damage or hinder the operating system including the push notification and the game center and the/ or hardware function is rejected. If you have severe violations or repeated violations, you will be deleted from Apple Developer Program.
            • 2. 5. 4 Multitask applications can use background services only for intended purpose, such as VoIP, audio playback, location information, task completion, local notification, etc.

            • 2. 5. 6 Web browsing applications must use the appropriate webkit framework and webkit JavaScript. You can apply for the right to use another web browser engine in the application. Click here for details of these authority.
            • 2. 5. 7 Intentional.
            • 2. 5. 8 An application that creates an 8-generation desktop / initial screen environment is rejected.
            • Standard switches such as 2. 5. 9 volume up / down / ring / noise switch, and applications that change or invalidate other native user interface elements and movement functions are rejected. For example, applications should not block other applications that are expected to work in a specific way or other functions.
            • 2. 5. 10 Do not submit applications containing banner ads or test advertisements that have been licensed.
              • 2. 5. 11 Sirikit and shortcuts
              • (i) Applications incorporating Sirikit and shortcuts can be processed without additional application support and only need to be registered for the intentions that the users are listed. For example, if the app is a diet planning app, you should not incorporate an intent to start workouts, even if the app share the integration with the fitness app.
              • (II) Make sure the vocabulary and phrases in the list is related to the intentional Siri function where the application and apps are registered. The nickname must be directly related to your app or company name, not a general term or a thir d-party application name or service.
              • (III) Solve Siri requests or shortcuts as directly as possible, and do not insert ads or other marketing between requests and its realization. Find an explanation only when you need the task (for example, a user to specify a specific workout type).

              3. Business

              (a) Furthermore, all characteristics and functions of the application clip must be included in the main application binaries. You cannot include ads in the application clip.

There are many ways to make money from the App Store app. If the business model is not clear, be sure to explain in the metadata and app review notebook. If you do not understand the mechanism of the app or do not know the i n-app charge immediately, the review may be delayed and rejected. In addition, the price is free, but the apparent tampered apps and i n-app charge data are not distributed. Rewice of expensive apps that try to deceive users at an unreasonably high price.

              • Customers tried to manipulate reviews, try to improve their charts with paid reviews, incentive reviews, filtering reviews, and fake reviews, and partnered with thir d-party services that perform such things on behalf of customers. If it is found, we will take measures to maintain the perfection of the App Store.
                • 3. 1 Payment method

Apps cannot use their own mechanisms to unlock content or functions, such as license key, expanded reality markers, QR code, encryption key and encryption wallet.
                  • The app can use the i n-app marketplace currency so that customers can "upgrade" the developers or digital content providers in the app.
                  • Credit or i n-game currency purchased through i n-app purchases may have no expiration date, and you need to secure the recovery mechanism for i n-app purchases.
                  • Apps may allow them to donate items to be purchased in the app to others. Such gifts can only be returned to the original buyer and cannot be replaced.
                  • The application distributed through the Mac App Store can use the enabled plu g-in or extensions through mechanisms other than the App Store.
                  • Applications that provide a mechanism that allows you to purchase a row box or other random virtual items must be disclosed to customers before purchasing.
                  • Digital gift cards, certificates, coupons, and vouchers that can be exchanged for digital products or services can be sold only in the app using i n-app bills. For physical gift cards sold in the app and sent to customers, you can use payment methods other than i n-app billing.
                  • The no n-subscription explanation application can provide a trial period based on the free period before presenting a complete unlock option by creating a no n-consumed IAP element in Price Tier according to the naming rules. "XX Day Trial". Before starting the trial, the application must clearly identify the downstream fee that the user must pay to use content or services, and full functions when the trial ends. See more detailed content access and trial period management using proof and DeviceCheck.
                  • The app can buy and sell services related to no n-value exchange (NFT) tokens, such as cutting, registration, and transfer, using the i n-app market. However, the ownership of NFT does not unlock the functions or functions in the app. However, applications do not include buttons, external links, or other behavior guidance to the purchase mechanism other than i n-app purchases.

However, it is necessary to download it directly from the App Store, it must be designed to avoid double payments by the subcliver, and the number of customers who have canceled the subscription must not be reduced.
                  • The subscription must work on all user devices where the app is available. Click here for how to share subscription between apps.
                  • Applications should not force users to evaluate users, test applications, download other applications, or other similar actions to access application functions, content, or applications.

                  • The subscription can include consumables, gems, i n-game coins, etc. You can also provide memberships that include access to discounted consumables (for example, membership to platinum that displays gem packs at discounted prices).
                  • If you change existing apps to a subscriptio n-based business model, you should not delete the core functions that existing users have already paid. For example, even after the introduction of a subscription model for new customers, customers who have already purchased a ful l-unlock game can continue to access full games.
                  • The automatic subscription app can provide customers a free trial period by providing related information specified in the App Store Connect. Click here for more information about providing regular subscriptions.

                    • Apple customers appreciate products that are simple, elegant, innovative, and easy to use. It's up to you to come up with a great design, but the following are the minimum standards for being approved by the App Store. Also, remember that even after your app is approved, you will need to update it to maintain its functionality and make it attractive to new and existing customers. Apps that no longer work or provide a poor experience may be removed from the App Store at any time.
                      • 4. 1 Copycats
