The objective of blackjack

Blackjack's goal is simple. The house dealer is defeated by making a hand as close as possible to the total of 21 and never exceeding the total.

In Blackjack, it is important to keep in mind that the casino is advantageous because the player must act first. If the player bust, the player will immediately lose the bet, even if the dealer bust.

Blackjack rules

The basic flow of Blackjack Games is as follows.

1. Betting

The dealer shuffles the deck (Note: In a mult i-store blackjack, the deck is shuffled with a machine called "shoe"). The round starts when all the players are betting.

2. Dealing

The dealer distributes the card. Two cards are distributed ostensibly to each player, one dealer is ostensible, and the other remains awarded (typical blackjack rules).

3. Naturals

If the first two cards distributed are ace and 10 cards, it will be "Natural" Blackjack (21). If the player has a natural and not a dealer, the dealer will immediately pay 3 to 2 (that is, 1, 5 times the player's bet). If the dealer has a natural, the dealer collects the bed immediately from all the players who do not have a natural. In the case of a draw (also called "push"), the player's bed is returned and the prize money is not paid.

4. Playing

The dealer asks each player to request a hit, or an additional card, or if he wants to draw any more cards. Players can also choose double, split, and salender.

5. Settling

If the sum of the player's hand hits the dealer's score, the player will receive a on e-o n-one payout. However, if the player's hand exceeds 21, the hand will be "bust", and even if it is the same as a dealer, you will lose its round and bet.

Betting in blackjack

A round of blackjack begins with each player placing their chips in the designated betting area in front of them. There are minimum and maximum betting limits, so it is important to check the limits before placing a bet.

Card values

In blackjack, each card is counted by its original numeric value. Also, face cards (jack, queen, king) each have a value of 10. When it comes to ace cards, it is up to the player to decide whether to count them as 1 or 11 - this is known as a "soft total".

You can learn the best plays for each hand set and what you need to know about "hard hands" and "soft hands" in our basic blackjack strategy guide with charts.

Hit or stand

The most important choice is to "hit" or "stand". But before making this choice, do you know the hand signs for hit and stand in blackjack?

To hit is to ask the dealer to deal you one more card. If you are happy with the total of your hand and decide to stay with the cards you have, you can stand.

When exactly should you hit or stand? Check our basic blackjack strategy chart.

Blackjack payouts

Blackjack is an even money card game with a payout of 1:1 (1:1).

Below is a table of blackjack payouts and a brief explanation of each:

Normal hand 1:1 return

Double payout 1:1 double payout

Depending on the blackjack table, there is usually a single deck game with 3:2 or 6:5 payouts.

Landing a blackjack

A natural blackjack or a blackjack after a hit has the same payout of 3:2. Of course, it is preferable to get a blackjack with the first two cards and hit while removing the element of luck.

Blackjack insurance

If the dealer's upcard is an ace, the player is asked if they would like insurance (a 2:1 side bet). This is a bet that the dealer's hole card will be a 10, making them the house blackjack.

Note: Insurance bets are rarely a good choice for players unless they are really sure that there are a lot of 10 cards left in the pack.

Double down

If the two cards total 9, 10 or 11, you can double your bet. On your turn, bet the same amount as your original bet (to the left of your original bet). The dealer deals one additional card, which is face down and cannot be taken. This card remains face down until bets are settled.

If a hand consists of a pair of 5s (a total of 10 cards), the player may choose to split the pair, double down as described, or simply play the hand normally. Splitting 4s or 5s is not recommended, however.

Pair splitting

If a player's first two cards are of the same value (for example, two 7s), the player may treat the two cards as separate hands. The first bet must be on one of the pair and the same amount on the other. The player first plays his left hand one or more times by tapping or standing, then plays the cards in his right hand in the same way.

The results of each hand are always treated separately. If a pair of aces is dealt, the player is dealt one more card for each ace and may not draw any more cards.

  • Note: The dealer may not split or double down.

Surrender

A surrender may occur if the house forces the player to fold the starting hand before drawing any additional cards. In this case, half of the player's bet is returned and the card is removed from the game. Remember that once you take the surrender action, that player will no longer participate in that hand.

Not all tables allow surrender, so be sure to check the table rules.

Dealers’ rules

Shuffling

To avoid cheating and card counting, the dealer thoroughly shuffles the deck until all cards are in a completely random order. The dealer then uses a plastic "cut card" to split the deck or nominate a player to cut the deck.

Dealing

Once all bets are placed, the dealer deals clockwise from the left until each player has been dealt two cards face up. The dealer's last card is placed face down (note: sometimes the first card is placed face down).

If the dealer's up card is an Ace, he asks if anyone wants insurance (2 to 1). This is a bet that the dealer has a natural blackjack. The dealer then asks players, starting from the left, if they want to stand or hit.

What is S17 in blackjack?

If the dealer hits a "soft 17" (i. e. an Ace 6, which can be played as a 7 or a 17), he must stand or hit, depending on the "17 rule" for that table.

If the table says "S17", the dealer must stand on a soft 17, meaning the dealer cannot improve his hand any further by reducing the house edge by 0. 2% (this is why the S17 game is the least common of the two variations of the "soft 17 rule").

What is H17 in blackjack?

"H17" is a more common game, and the dealer must hit with software 17. In other words, dealers are more likely to make better hand between 18 and 21, and have more house advantage.

Early surrender

Unlike the standard "Late Salendar" rules, the early salender gives the player the option to abandon the hand and recover half of the first bet before the dealer checks blackjack.

Late surrender

This is the most common salender rule in both live and online. Players have the option to salenders after the dealer checks blackjack, collects half of the first bed.

Resplitting Aces

Do you think Ace's pair can only split once? it's not.

If you split the ace pair and receive another ace as the next card, in the table that applies the RSA rules (glowing ace), the third or fourth hand is another ace. Can be split.

Why not all casinos acknowledge RSA? Ace is the strongest card in blackjack, and the ace split is very advantageous for players. Even if the casino allows RSA, only one additional card is allowed in each ace, and dubling is not allowed.

Let's speed up with arithmetic elements that divide pairs in the blackjack glossary.

Blackjack variations

European Blackjack

In the Standard (American) Blackjack, the dealer immediately checks the hall card, whether the up card is 10 cards or an ace. If the dealer has a blackjack, the round ends.

However, in European Blackjack, the dealer receives one card, is distributed to players, and receives the second card after the player acts. In other words, the dealer will not be able to check the black jack until all the players finish the hand, so the player will lose the first bet and other additional bets due to split and double down.

Blackjack Switch

Have you ever wanted to replace your card with a split pair? It is possible with Blackjax Switch!

The player is distributed with two hands instead of one hand, and you can create two stronger hands by replacing the top cards in each hand. However, physical blackjack is paid on e-o n-one instead of normal 3 to 2. Also, the dealer's hard 22 pushes all the players' hands other than the physical hand.

Spanish 21

Have you ever wondered how to play Spanish 21? This Blackjack variations have a lot of familiar rules in Blackjack, such as 3 to 2 dividends, delaid delivery, and dubling down (and lidlow).

However, in Spanish 21, there are no 10 cards on the shoe (10 face cards remain). This may not seem to be a big difference at first glance, but removing this precious card will increase the house edge.

Double Attack Blackjack

How to play double attack black jack: Spanish 21 variations do not have "10" cards, and blackjack is paid only on e-o n-one. However, the player who saw the upcard of the dealer can double the first bet, and also has a "buster" side bet.

Free Bet Blackjack

The casino is responsible for double down and split bets, like blackjack. However, if the dealer issues 22 hard cards, all the player's bed will be pushed. Even if the dealer breaks, the house edge jumps twice the normal blackjack.

California Blackjack

Many blackjack rules are applied here, but the first remarkable change is that, like poker, players will take turns as a bunker (dealer), increasing the number of players house edges.

The second major difference between California Black Jack is that a 6-deck and 53 cards are used because a joker card has been added. Joker cards can get the score required to become 21 (that is, the hand with a joker is automatically 21). As a result, if the dealer's up card is a joker, the dealer must turn the second card and end the hand. Players with a total of 21 push, and the hand less than 21 will lose.

Finally, the natural is more than 21, the traditional "Black Jack" rating, and is composed of various combinations of ACE and joker (strictly equivalent to 22), and the dealers have a natural. If not, it will be paid 2 to 1.

Even if both the player and the dealer bust, if the dealer has a higher total hand, a push will be performed instead. If the total player is higher than the dealer, you will lose.

Bonus Blackjack

Another variation with the main bed and a side bed. Bonus Black Jack allows you to bet on whether or not both players, dealers, or both will release blackjack, and get 15 to 1 dividend.

Buster Blackjack

Buster Blackjack (BBJ) is a side bet, and you can bet on whether the dealer will move forward. The larger the number of cards included in the hand, the higher the dividend, and in the case of three, the more it is one to 1, or 200 to 1.

The 10s rule

In blackjack, 10 cards are often used. I hope that the future card will be 10.

Don’t split your 10s

20 is a difficult score to win. If you split two 10 pieces, the chances of winning will drop dramatically.

Hit on soft 17

I can't proceed with soft 17. In fact, there is a high possibility that it will end with 21.

Are you worried about hitting hard 17? See the basic blackjack strategy.

Don’t split on 4s or 5s

Or it may end with a low total. Try a hit to go to a safe area that you can't proceed next.

Split on Aces and 8s

Why do you stick to Soft 2 to split and become blackjack? Similarly, you shouldn't settle in the 16 score, as you can split 8 and increase the total without moving forward.
