Puck passes bid for Venetian/Palazzo

Dinnertime has arrived at the Venetian and Palazzo, and Wolfgang Puck's steakhouse is the busiest of the open restaurants. By 7:30 PM, both the main dining area and the section near the raw bar are already full, with reservations booked for 90 people.

Away from the restaurant strip that connects the two casinos, it was less crowded. Sister restaurants Chika and Yardbird, run by sister 50 Hospitality companies, started to fill up a little later. At Chika, I had dinner with friends with 50 Eggs owner John Kunkel, who was excited to reopen the two locations and to unveil his company's new Italian spritz concept at the resort pool.

On the Venetian's casino floor, both Black Tap and Noodle Asia are serving guests. The smaller Asian spot seemed busier. But casual burger-and-shake restaurant Black Tap still has a few tables available inside. The manager explained that the patio they tore down in the afternoon is still up in case there are protests on Las Vegas Boulevard.

Other restaurants in the two casinos include the Venetian's Grand Luxe Cafe (the one at the Palazzo is closed), Chinese spot Mott 32, Italian restaurant Matteo, and Hong Kong Cafe. Several big-name restaurants remain closed, including Emeril Lagasse's Delmonico restaurant, and David Chang's two new concepts, Majordomo Meat & Fish and Moon Place. All of the restaurants on the second floor of the Palazzo are now closed as well.

For those who want to enjoy the lagoon, both casinos have a few bars open: Electra at the Palazzo and Dorsey at the Venetian. (Electra at the Palazzo and Dorsey at the Venetian.)

Lots of things to eat at the Linq

At least half of the numerous restaurants on the strip appear to be open. There are restaurants like Chayo Mexican Kitchen, Flour and Barley Brick Oven, Slanted Quilt Pub, and a movie-themed Italian spot, as well as more polarizing options like Haute Dog Jelly and Burger In N Out. For those who prefer liquid-only refreshments, the Ice Bar offers window service. If you need something sweet, the giant I Love Sugar is doing a solid job.

There will be more options on Friday. Virgil's Real BBQ, for example, was closed to customers on Thursday night, but staff is preparing for an 11 a. m. opening on Friday.

Notable absence from the current offerings is Gordon Ramsay fish and chips. There's a sign on the door saying it's open for take-out only, but the doors are locked.

5:30 p. m.

Flamingo is festive

At 5:15 p. m., the floor of the Flamingo Casino is buzzing with activity. It's a Thursday. At least a dozen table games had players seated, with no more than three players at each table and perhaps one or two more around the roulette table and wheel. [...]

For food and cocktails, Carlos n Charlie's is the place to go. Inside the Mexican restaurant, a magician with a band around his face went around the tables, performing illusions with cards and a little fire. On the restaurant's patio, some tables were marked with yellow tape to enforce social distancing, but the rest were filled with patrons enjoying the nice weather. (The same weather made the nearby pool a popular attraction, with long lines to check in.)

A lively crowd had also gathered in the food court, but the brand new Bugsy's Grill & Lamp Meyers sat empty behind its ornate gates, waiting for its grand opening day.

5 p. m.

Thankful for the quiet

Amanda White and her friends had come from Richmond, Virginia, to celebrate Keith White's birthday. They had originally planned to arrive the day before, but the pandemic had derailed their plans.

Not avid foodies, they crossed the square in front of Hell's Kitchen but had no intention of going inside, and were unfazed by the fact that Caesars' food options were currently limited.

It was their first trip to Las Vegas, so they said they didn't really understand how quiet it was, but somehow it felt that way.

"We just hate crowds," Chris Mahon said.

4:10 p. m.

Steaks and adventures at Circus Circus

Five minutes before the scheduled 4 p. m. opening, chefs and hostesses stood outside the legendary Vegas steakhouse at Circus Circus, ready to greet diners. Not far away, at the Westside Deli, a sign announced that a nearby buffet that wasn't open was available for overflow seating. All five booths and eight tables at the deli were empty. But it was still early in the day.

The casino was quiet in the late afternoon. The Adventuredome was probably the busiest part of the resort, but only a few of the shops and restaurants surrounding the entertainment area were open.

Kelly Colby and her family of six, visiting Las Vegas from Salt Lake City, were among those enjoying the theme park today.

"It was a lot of fun," she said. "Everybody was having a great time."

It was their first casino visit, and they liked the notices.

"I feel really good. I feel like the Adventuredome could have had a few more sanitation stations. But as far as the casino and stuff, everything's been really nice. There's a lot of hand sanitizer everywhere, so I feel really good right now."

Thinking about what guests want

Aside from some new plexiglass, extra hand sanitizer dispensers and a little extra space, the gaming floor at The Peppermill in Reno doesn't look much different than it did in March, before casinos across the state were forced to close due to the coronavirus pandemic, says Steven Ascuaga, the resort's corporate business development manager.

"One of our goals is to provide another experience, which is completely different from what we experienced three months ago," Askaaga said on Thursday.

According to Askuaga, there have been many discussions between regulatory authorities in the company and regulatory authorities, about what can be done and cannot do a resort to maintain a normal mind.

Scott Evans, the director in charge of Pepper Mill, said it was important to think about what guests wanted.

"What we did was basically to watch the games that guests liked and do as much as possible to maintain those games.

From there, we decided to remove some game consoles and set up space between the players and the player, set up a prexy glass between the most popular game chairs, and in some cases removed the entire game console. I decided to give a little more margin.

In Pepper Mill, which opened at 9 am, game consoles are filled up faster than the game table. Slowly, but surely, more gamblers (about half of them wore a mask) entered from the door, headed to your favorite game attraction, and saw before the resort was closed a few months ago. There was a sight that could not be done.

"I think it's an intellectual one step to the state and for the state, and for the people, the returning to the mainstream industry is a big step in intelligence," Askaga said. "I think we are starting to give everyone confidence."

3:39 pm

Changes in Caesers Palace

Sean McBurney did not expect the sale at Caesars Palace on the first day when the gaming was revived in Nevada after the dark days in 1978.

But he knows that hundreds of Caesers should arrive on Thursday, probably given more royalty card holders than Friday.

Caesters Palace's general manager said that the players arriving at the striped Caesters Entertainment flagship property can see some different things.

Only three people can play on the Black Jack table, four in roulette, and six in the clapstable. What may be surprising is the minimum table. The at least $ 15 tables are rare, with $ 25 and $ 50 A hand tables.

There are many big artists selling goods in the Coliseum, but it may be ahead of the rod stewart and Leba McKen Tire.

The famous Buccar Buffet of Caesers will close until a notification.

3:30 pm.

There are many spectators, but few people eat

Some of the most praised restaurants, such as Le Cirque, Picasso, and Spago, have not yet resumed after closing. You can check when it will resume with the QR code posted at the entrance of the restaurant. The QR code can also be used for browsing the menu, and at the resumed restaurant, you can proceed to the seating list of seats.

The last group includes Sedels, a deli / coffee shop in the resort, and a handful of tables on Thursday afternoon.

The sky of the strat is quiet

Starbucks and Strat Cafe are the only restaurants that opened on the casino floor of Strut. Those who pay for money and go up to the observation deck with the elevator (up to 4 people per elevator) have 108 EATS cookies, ice cream, sandwiches, and the 108 DRINKS bar has a bartender to pour cocktails. 。 However, only four were witnessed there for 20 minutes this afternoon.

The two were Anthony Luas and Carina Baltakers living in Long Beach, California. They stayed in Tuscany last Wednesday and moved to this resort today. They are pleased that the movie has resumed.

"We saw that we were dead, but we didn't like it," Laurus said. "I've never been to Las Vegas and I've seen it. That movie was like" I'm a legendary ". It was crazy. But now I can do more, I wonder if I can do more. I'm excited. " "

Strat's thrilling vehicles are still closed, but big pictures and sky jumps will open on Friday. Regarding restaurants, casino "Wings and Sports" and "Top of the World" are thinking of opening next weekend.

The 7 6-yea r-old Rally Frost, who lives in Summerlin, was kicked out of the Win's Casher Kage about 30 minutes after the resume of the casino.

He said he was wearing a Hawaiian shirt and did not wear a mask, and stood in the same place as the opening 15 years ago.

"I came because the virus was not afraid. I think it's overdoing ... I don't think I will die if I get infected with the virus. The news is scared of everyone."

Frost, who has lived in Las Vegas for 17 years, is driving a sedan at a limousine company and will return to work on Friday.

On the day of the reopening, he walked other facilities along the strip, such as Palazzo, Belagio, and Cosmopolitan, for exercise.

"I wanted to see it. I'm a little disappointed, not more lively," he said. "I should have been like a grand opening."

2:00 pm

It is not to win or lose.

On Thursday, for some casino regular customers, winning or losing was second, just there.

"I was playing in the High Limit area, but now I'm playing with Penny. But I'm very happy to come here. It's very fun."

Schwaltz was one of about 20 players in the encore at 2:00 pm, comparable to the casino traffic up to that point. She has been in Las Vegas since she was 17, and had come to Las Vegas several times a month before Coronovirus spread.

"That's special," she returned to the casino and said when he was here on the first day.

Schwartz has visited a few months ago during the suspension of business. "I feel like I saw another one at the airport. I was very depressed. It was like the world of Twilight Zone."

However, this time, I started the day after seeing the Bellagio fountain.

Schwartz says, Thursday was a good first step.

"I didn't even think I could see the strip va n-in van part trafficking again."

5 cheers to hand poker

At 1:20 pm, a poker room manager Garrett Okahara announced that the gaming authorities had approved the gaming to five hands, and cheered from Orleans' poker players.

At 8:00 am on Thursday, the game began with fou r-handed instructions from the state gaming control board (gambling management committee). In this game, nine or ten people usually play the table.

South Point is the only poker room in the local area. With 5 hand approval on Wednesday, ORLEANS was added on Thursday.

ORLEANS demand is high. After 1:00 pm, 11 tables were in operation, and more than 100 players were on the waiting list of various games.

Okahara said that he witnessed this high demand and strive to increase the number of playboards.

"I like all han d-washing areas and all han d-disinfectants," said Cabrera. But I don't know what I think about the partitions of prexiglasses that separate employees and guests.

"Slill of the machine again"

Sahara Las Vegas's casino clearly expressed what many people thought after the closing of the whole state over two months.

"I thought this way. Fortunately, I can get out of the apartment," said 8 8-yea r-old Elaine Burt Knowski while playing the slot machine.

Burt Knowski, a regular Sharan customer who lives nearby, walked to the casino on Thursday morning.

Also, near the entrance of the casino, there was a sign that encouraged public health protocols, and it was not recommended to wear a face mask, but I did not care much about Bart Knowskei, but I wore a face mask for the time being. I was.

"I have to do this. I know that, but I don't like it very much.

For Charlin Jackson, the resurrection of the casino was a step to regain a peaceful daily life, and had to travel from Los Angeles.

"The opening of Las Vegas, you can enjoy the thrill of the machine again," she said.

However, Sahara provided a free room when she and her husband called, and this casino was a place to visit when I came to this town, Buffalo Deluxe she played. She said a little distance from the slot machine.

Just like most a dozens of customers who visited the casino after 11 am, he did not have a face mask, but pointing to a spacious casino floor, it is possible to make social withdrawal. Showed me.

In general, people wear masks more regularly in Los Angeles than in Las Vegas, Jackson said, which worries him, but he expressed hope that the pandemic won't disrupt daily life for long.

"You just have to trust that everything will be OK," he said. "It's hard to believe that the pandemic will take over everything."

Thomas, who declined to give his last name, has long been waiting for the moment that non-essential businesses will reopen. He called the situation "worse than prison," with many people stranded at home by government shutdowns and welfare removals.

"I live across the street and I've been sitting in front of the TV for two and a half months, 'cause there's nothing else to do.'"

He, who also wore a mask, said he thought Mockingbird was "so hyped."

But not everyone at the Sahara Las Vegas on Thursday morning felt that way.

"Am I a home helper?" said Mitzi Lloyd, 62.

But it's a different story for her mother, who was "sick at home" playing slot machines nearby.

"She's 80 years old. She got through it."

1:30 p. m. Late Lunch and Hugs

The Sahara, at the north end of the Strip, is mostly deserted in the early afternoon. The most bustling part of the casino floor is a single Hogshead table with five or six players standing and gambling. There are four or five other table games, but no more than two players at each.

Most of the resort's restaurants are closed, leaving dining options extremely limited. We had a late lunch at Northside Cafe, where the hostess told us that when they opened this morning, the place was still slow to attract customers, but that the crowds have been trickling in since the opening hours. The Starbucks near the hotel lobby is open but empty. At Jose Andres' Meat Market, the resort's flagship restaurant, a few employees were seen preparing the bar and open kitchen for a Friday reopening.

1:20 p. m.

"Just relax for a while."

π. Χ. Lewis, 43, was playing slot machines at Treasure Island. He was visiting from Arizona.

"There's a lot going on right now, so it feels good to get out and just relax for a while. It feels good. He said he felt safe with the security measures he saw.

"So far, it seems to be going well.

Hand sanitizer is available in several locations.

Temperature checks are being conducted for hotel guests, and masks are available at reception. There were no masks for guests at other entrances, and no temperature machines were in sight.

A few table games with minimum bets of $15 and $25 were open early Thursday. Tables had three chairs and no plexiglass dividers. Tables offered cocktail service.

Traffic inside the casino was light throughout the morning, and the sidewalks outside were mostly deserted.

Doreen Hill, 57, of North Las Vegas, described the atmosphere as "kind of gloomy."

"I thought there'd be more people there, but not really," she said.

Hill said she was looking forward to getting out of the house. She said she visited Treasure Island to see what was going on on the Strip.

Right now, people are scared to go out, but I think next week more people will be out."

1:19 p. m. Regular returns to Reno's Pepper Mill

Joyce Pfeiffe, a 65-year-old retiree who lives in Sparks, was a regular at the Pepper Mill in Reno before the casino closed in March. For her, Thursday marked the return of normalcy.

"I'm retired. This was my entertainment, and it was gone for two and a half months. I missed it," Pfeiffe said as she sat at one of the casino's electronic slot machines.

Inside the Pepper Mill, several measures were taken to separate guests from gamblers on the casino floor.

Some slot machines were separated by plexiglass windows. And in areas without plexiglass, all other machines were closed off and messages, often containing lyrics from songs like "Don't Stand So Close to Me" by The Police, were posted.

In other areas, some slot machines were simply removed, and the remaining machines were spread out to allow for a safe distance between players.

Game tables had no more than three chairs, and dealers and players were separated by tall plexiglass windows.

Fefe, who wore a face mask and gloves while gambling, said she felt safe inside the casino but was a little frustrated because the machines she wanted to play were full.

But more than that, Fefe is just happy to be back.

"I'm so happy to be able to come here and just sit back and relax. It costs money, but it's nice."

Masked showgirls bring social distancing

A familiar sight greeted tourists entering the Flamingo from the Strip sidewalk on Thursday morning.

The catchphrase? They were all wearing matching orange masks and holding signs asking people to refrain from socializing when asking for photos. No hugs this time.

Such familiar Vegas gags were seen throughout the Flamingo, which had roared back to life after the Covid-19 shutdown.

In the hotel lobby, guests lined up to check in, and were probed by metal detectors with machines that resembled their guests' temperatures. Security guards watched as pink and purple spots projected onto screens that vaguely resembled people.

On the casino floor, all other slot machines were shut down to encourage social retreat.

Red stickers spaced six feet apart indicated where to stand while in line and where to rest your elbows at the craps tables.

Masks were required for board games but strongly encouraged at the slots. Gloves were not required.

Employees were cleaning machines regularly. Around 10 a. m., a person scrubs with a Clorox wipe the rods used to assemble the dice in the casino's loan-active craps game.

Red signs and videos projected on slot machine screens suggested safe removal methods, informed players that their machines would be cleaned regularly, and labeled sanitizing stations.

The dozen or so players there at 10 a. m. had quadrupled by 11 a. m., but an uncharacteristic quiet was felt with every passing moment.

12:45 p. m.

Like other slots, some take time to adjust.

As with many who haven't worked in more than two months, some slot machines took time to speed up.

A James Bond Thunderball machine at the Wynn Las Vegas froze during the bonus round.

While it rebooted, a front desk clerk said some machines had done the same thing before today, but not more than usual.

You'd think the machines would be eager to get back to work delivering money as soon as possible.

But at least they didn't use this time away from human contact to regain their senses.

12:45pm

Hot dogs hotter than the hockey bar at D

The freeling street at noon was quiet. The person from Las Vegas Avenue was asked to present an identification card before passing through the metal detector. There is another checkpoint at the entrance of the D casino and the free monster, where guests were asked to take a simple body temperature scan and remove the mask for a security camera. (Four Queens and Golden Nuggets seemed to have no such checkpoints).

American Cony Island did not interfere with guests around noon. On the second floor of the resort, there was Balkanada, which just opened just before the store closed, but there were no customers. The adjacent sports book was empty, probably because of the limited betting sports. (Those who want to drink a cup on the second floor of the resort seemed to prefer the observation bar on the other side of the casino.

While it rebooted, a front desk clerk said some machines had done the same thing before today, but not more than usual.

At the outside D-bar, a bartender in a tw o-piece uniform greeted a customer seeking a huge frozen cocktail.

New York New York is very quiet, but rather rough than the MGM ground. There were several customers in IL FORNAIO and AMERICA near the lobby. On the other side of the casino, Tom's Urban employees were waiting for customers.

However, most of the movements were between the resort's Village Street Restaurant, where most quick service spots were open and crowded with customers.

3:00 pm

"It was the best," Smith said after his ship.

Social withdrawal rules were still applied to the columns of the roller coaster adventure, and each vehicle was limited to those who came together.

12:14 pm

South Points Open as usual

At 8:00 am on Thursday, there were already visitors before South Point Casino officially opened.

Only a few rules have been added to encourage social withdrawal, it seems like a normal business. By 9:30 am, all other machines were closed, and the table had a small crowd.

At 10 am, about 300 people gathered and many were not masked. The staff wore gloves and masks and had face shields.

As the congestion became intense, the staff cleaned up and secured seats.

One visitor said he was worried about the spread of crows associated with the casino opening.

"They do their best, but they don't care about the mask and touch the same chips."

He stopped at the casino just to see the resumption skill.

I was happy to see an employee with a mask and face shield, but I was disappointed that there was almost no social distance with customers. He will not play right away.

"I pray that Coronavirus will not increase rapidly," he said.

After noon, the operation was full. The poker room was swollen to about 100 people. The crowds around the table were quite large, and more and more people were slots with cigarettes.

Dawid Maelk, who lives in New Jersey, said the colonator was irrelevant at South Point. He worked as a truck driver and happened to pass through Rasu Vegas.

"I'm probably two months ago, so I'm not worried. After some casinos were resumed before going to South Points to poker on Thursday, Maelk walked around the strip last night. I went to other casinos.

Overall, he said, "There were few people outside, and all the working people were wearing masks."

The fashion of face masks in encore

Judging from the encore, Las Vegas may have been the most inflatable place in the United States for a moment this morning.

All employees, including lifeguards, are wearing face masks.

Earlier that day, only one table, game players waving dice among the covered employees could only find.

However, as in the morning to the afternoon, some spectators wearing the mask earlier were hanging the mask from one ear.

Gamblers move from the pool to the casino floor, the number of tables games has been restricted, and part of the slot machine has become unusable to enable social declining, so the percentage of visitors who are not masked. Is increased.

If it would be allowed to avoid masks distributed free of charge at their own masks and each entrance, it would be a pool customer. Just in case, don't wear a mask in the pool. This is basically a DIY equivalent to water blame.

Follow the recycling status

On Thursday morning, Anna Marciano and Noel McGonigle, a childhood friend of New York, who entered the MGM Grand's first team, said that they are going on a nationwide tour to follow the state restarted from pandemic vacations. 。

He recently stopped in Georgia, where the regulations were alleviated, and recorded his journey to Las Vegas two days ago.

The couple said they are looking forward to their activities such as golf, zip line, and relaxation in cabana.

"Marciano added that New York has just opened a patio recently.

When asked if he was worried about the crown or a protest in the city, they were worried at home and said they prefer to be in a place where they could do more.

"I hope they are not here, but I'm at the poolside," said Marciano.

noon

78 days without gambling

By noon, dozens of gamblers were sitting on a machine in the Strat and several open tables. There were less than half of the customers wearing the mask, but there was a free mask next to the disinfectant at the front entrance and the sign that encouraged the mask to wear.

"It was as expected for the opening of Thursday," said Vice President and General Manager Steven Sayer.

At the front entrance, a man checking the body temperature with an infrared thermometer was seen, but he was able to enter the casino freely from the garage. Sayer said that only customers who checked in at the hotel had to check their body temperature.

According to Sayer, all the slot machines were still powered, but all adjacent machines were removed, so people were able to sort their chairs.

"I don't want to separate those who are already in the same group," said Sayer.

Some people waited for the opening and drove to Las Vegas. Winston Hauzen always plays in a casino near Raflin's home, but wanted to come to Las Vegas for replays.

"I've never spent 78 days without gambling for the last 32 years," he said, playing the first round of the video poker.

Dimitri Karabellas (51) said that he arrived in Las Vegas early in the morning on Thursday after coming by a friend from Sannose, California. Both of them were dismissed during pandemics, but they wanted to get out of the house.

"It's good to return to the city," said Karabella while watching horse racing in a nearby sportsbook.

Signs of lively MGM ground

Among the new functions on the MGM Grand Casino floor, there were two new han d-washed places with sinks and running water on the other side of the floor.

On the casino floor, while the staff walked while wiping the screen and buttons, there were also gloves wearing slot players.

In the table game, there was a partition partitioned by glass, so that up to three people could play up to three people per table.

Masks, gloves, and dispensers of hand disinfectants were installed in various places in the casino. There was no temperature controller at the hotel or casino entrance.

In the eating and drinking tent, the situation began to recover slowly. Several bars opened, and the lobber bar had three customers, but it was a socially remote location.

At the Wolf Gang Pack Bar & Grill, the server was working, but did not provide services.

Believe in the Las Vegas operator

In Cosmopolitan, customers began to cry at 10 am.

3:00 pm

Before sitting on a buffalo slot machine, they shouted loudly in the casino. By 11 am, they had already won four bonuses.

"I love each other! Vegas Baby! The machine sounds a chime to declare the victory again.

The workers entered the casino from another entrance and stood in front of a tablet to measure body temperature. Later, a gray mask was handed over, and after using it for 30 days, another mask was passed.

The employees covered with the cover said they believed that Biakaba and Hernandes believe that Las Vegas gaming operators will have the right to protect guests and staff. 。

"We are working safely and realistically," said Biakaba. "It's great, everyone is ready."

The two women run a company in Airbnb, Vegas Jewels, and are excited to resume for guests.

Other places in the casino, people were playing beer while playing craps and sitting on a black jack table with three people. Most players seem to be wearing masks, and small video screens are installed here and there, putting a social distance, wearing a mask, and disinfecting hands regularly. "Playing" was urging visitors to be careful.

One man with a mask was playing a video poker with a bottle containing the fingering. The other was sprinkling the cigar while wearing a mask.

Joel Horaday, who lives in Detroit, said that Las Vegas was the first time in Las Vegas, gambling in D in the early morning and won $ 80 in roulette. He came with his friend Dre Jackson (Colorado).

Horaday said that the illuminations he saw when he arrived on an airplane was as expected and was looking forward to what the remaining journey would be.

"I don't have any concerns about the virus," he said.

New York, New York, returned in peace

A guest was flooded to chec k-in in New York, New York, which resumed at 11:00 am on Thursday, and about 50 people were waiting for the lock.

Laura Ferlel entered New York from Sacramento this morning for a wedding of his brothe r-i n-law on Friday.

"It was perfect," Ferel said.

A new mobile chec k-in system was released on Thursday, according to the hote l-operated director, James Hierley, to reduce long rows and guests' contact.

Heyee expanded his eyes from the hotel lobby, which also resumed, saw a child running with a stuffed minion and said, "We are here."

"This is what we want to come back," said Healey.

As soon as the hotel opened, Jeff Nicastro, living in Chicago, went straight to the slot, avoiding chec k-in. He said he had been to Ras Vegas twice a year for the past 30 years and wanted to come back.

"I wanted to see what a new experience was.

Several slot machines were turned off, the chairs were removed in front of them to maintain a social distance guidelines, and the tabletics had a prexygle between the players and the dealer.

11 am.

Don't drink at all on the MGM ground

The lively MGM ground restaurant scenes were not always on Thursday morning. The first food stand lined up in the parking lot was closed.

Walking through the casino and walking to the restaurant street at the resort, I was always tied to a series of clean spots polished, and there was no open store. The vast food court had about half of the first food store, and there were only two metro employees in the vast seating area.

"It was perfect," Ferel said.

10:57 am.

"I wanted to come early

Hope Avila, who lives in California, was talking about a drive along the strip to Venetian for gambling. After 10 am, there were no other pedestrians nearby, and the traffic on Las Vegas Boulevard was small.

3:00 pm

Avilla decided to walk on a strip for a while through the floral mask, but said he was ready to perform now.

My son says, "Mama, you may be infected (to colonovirus), but you can get something from anywhere if you go to the market." God was with me. I am 71 years old. I believe that what will happen. I am aiming for it. "

Elcortes regular customers are excited about the resurrection

There was no line outside of Elcortes at 8:00 am because the management began quietly at 7:00 am to reduce congestion.

However, for many years of regular customers such as Lana Gedato (65 years old), the opening at 8:00 am was a moment of delight.

"I'm glad I was able to work again!" She shouted to the staff.

Gadato rushed to his favorite machine, Buffalo Gold. She has been in Elcortes for more than 20 years, three or four days a week.

"I'm excited. It's the first time in 78 days."

Gedalt was already taking a break today, but a few months ago he warned his boss would take a vacation if he was planning to work on the day when the casino opens.

"I like more local people than tourists," she said.

According to Adam Weedburg, 80 % of players are staff.

"I didn't think it would be so crowded from this early," he said at 8:30 am before reporting 100 players on a slot machine alone.

On the other hand, the hotel opened 250 rooms, with 50 % of this weekend. One couple handed his luggage to Bellboy at 8:00 am and expressed his excitement to return.

Four board games have a face shield, and some host stations have been closed to encourage social withdrawal. Visberg said he was testing various security measures until he asked what was desirable.

"Face shield is a fairly extreme measure compared to what you need," he said.

Local people were excited to get out of the house after the whole city was closed for more than two months.

"I had to do something new," said Sergio Uribe, 46.

Uribe arrived at 9 am and played a game found by Penny.

Angaria Bridges (65 years old) said that her husband rested her grandchildren's babys, so on Thursday morning, he ran a block to play his favorite game, digital keno.

"I like most people here, so I like it," she said.

Bridgis said he could play for a few hours if he did well, and brought his headphones in that case.

As of 10:45 am, the slot has 180 players.

10:40 am

Wayne Newton, Caesar, Cleopatra welcome customers

At Caesers Palace, Caesar, Cleopatra, Wayne Newton, and Caesers Entertainment CEO Tony Rodio were preparing for the renewal of film facilities with a face mask.

Before heading to the casino where the first game was played after 10 am, guests staying at the hotel visited.

Hotel guests must undergo temperature control. Casino players are not.

"There are many places to enter," said Caesters employees.

In Newton, a casino player chatted when he entered the game area.

One of them, Oliver Gil, lives in Las Vegas and has been using Caesers since 1975.

Before heading to the slot machine, the other gamblers touched Newton and elbows, and unidentified women sang "DANKE SHOEN" to him walking in the casino.

"You are good at singing," she said with a smile.

Treasure Island opens to knock out tourists

Finishing touches like installing social spirits and light fixtures were also being done as guests visited the reception desk. Just before the opening, some workers were painting the railings at the north end of the resort and cleaning the wooden deck at the casino entrance.

The workers were cleaning the machines and were expected to have a clear barrier separating the staff in the players' office from the players.

Signs remind people to practice social distancing and wash their hands after using the restrooms.

Jonathan Phoenix's family was waiting for the doors to open at the entrance to the lanes near the famous Treasure Island ship.

"We saw they reopened early last week, so we decided to head upstairs," he said.

The 38-year-old Los Angeles native said he was looking forward to visiting the pool and restaurants.

It's also Phoenix's birthday, and his son Slava just turned 6, so the trip is also a celebration for both of them.

Jeff Horstman, 46, said he was on a road trip with his wife to tour national parks. A replay happened in the area, so he decided to stop by.

He was initially concerned about the recent political unrest, but ultimately felt safe enough to visit Las Vegas.

He said he felt safe enough with the resort's security measures, as resort employees wore masks and people weren't standing too close together.

10:30 a. m.

Sahara Las Vegas is somewhat quiet

It's 10:15 a. m. and the Sahara Las Vegas is relatively quiet. All staff are wearing face masks, including bartenders, dealers, cocktail servers, and cleaning staff.

There are more people in suits, presumably casino executives, standing in a circle than there are guests on the casino floor at this point.

There are Purell wipe dispensers (with built-in trash cans) in strategic locations, George Michael is playing on the radio, and the familiar slot machines are beeping.

The rule of keeping hosts close to each other seems to be being followed.

No customers are seated at the gaming tables yet.

Only a handful of customers are passing through now.

About half of the patrons were wearing face masks.

Other cleaning methods included cashiers wiping down surfaces, employees wiping down the glass entrance doors, and other employees walking the casino floor with rags and spray bottles.

The doors don't appear to have temperature control, at least that I could see.

McCalan welcomes travelers to Las Vegas

Southwest Airlines, the largest airline at McCaran International Airport, welcomed travelers to Las Vegas on Thursday, built a carnival playground at the baggage receipt.

The people turned the prize wheels, threw darts on balloons, and played with Bagtos, which won the various prizes of Southwest.

Flights from Atlanta, Indianapolis and Nashville, there were people everywhere in the airport.

It has been different from the last few months, when the airport has become a de facto ghost town.

When we arrived, the signboards and announcements were to pay attention to passengers, with the introduction of COVID-19 security protocols.

The crowd seems to be happy and seems to be ready to relax in Sin City.

10:10 am.

Angkor guests were greeted with applause

If Las Vegas was ready to resume, the encore staff was there to provide it.

The entrance is limited, and the entrance to the beach club is currently the only exit, but dozens of employees gathered at the valley entrance and applauded the first arrivals. It wasn't applause that the boss came here. "

Each guest had a fingering toxic solution and a mask. Body temperature check will be waiting for a while. If not registered, you will be asked to enter again.

When he was not greeting the guests, the employees were busy welcoming their colleagues, especially those of the small K-9 unit at the hotel.

10 am.

Win Las Vegas Society

A few minutes before Win Las Vegas resumed, about 30 crowds were waiting in line, maintaining a sociable distance with the encouragement of employees.

When the clock needle showed 10 am, the employees applauded and the customers chased inside. Each customer was given a disposable mask at the entrance.

On the casino floor, there was a han d-disinfected station beside a sign indicating a social distance. The smell of the freshly baked bread in The Cafe overlapped with the scent of smoke cigarettes. A man, one step away from the black jack table, dropped a cigarette from his lips from the mask hidden under his chin.

At 10:20 am, five gathered in a sportsbook and studying cards. Horse racing and poker were projected on the huge TV screen next to the betting line of UFC and profile balls.

Throughout the casino, masked employees cleaned slot machines and masked cocktail waitresses served drinks. Chairs had been removed from half of the video poker and slot machines. At table games like poker, blackjack and Casino War, plexiglass partitions protected guests from dealers. Cards were monitored to prevent players from touching them.

In the cashier cage, Larry Frost, 76, put bills in his pocket as he walked away. "Thank you," he said. "It's good to be home."

9:09 a. m.

Opening on the Las Vegas Strip

When the Bellagio's doors swung open at 10 a. m., people applauded.

Karin Krogius and her sister, Becky Radusovski, were among the first in line to get into the Bellagio on Thursday morning.

The venue opened at 10 a. m., but the couple were first in line at about 9:25 a. m. Although the couple usually fly into Las Vegas, they decided to drive from their home in Newport Beach, California, in case the re-entry date was pushed back. The couple left for Las Vegas around 5:30 a. m. "We've been waiting for the reopening," said Krogis, who usually visits Las Vegas twice a month. "We took our temperatures and went straight to the casino." The casino has undergone major changes since it opened in mid-March. Hand sanitizing stations, masks, gloves and social distancing signs have been installed throughout the grounds. Krogis said the new protocols are not an issue. "We're so excited that nothing can be bad as far as they're concerned. We're going to get back in the casino and do whatever it takes to help Vegas bounce back." Paula Mercado, who lives in Salem, Oregon, visited Las Vegas on Thursday for the first time in more than three years. The timing of the reopening was just right, she said. She had a four-day weekend and it was her husband's anniversary weekend. "It's always fun to come here. It's mentally refreshing and it's a nice getaway from everything else," Mercado said. "If you want to get away from things, this is the place to be."

MGM Chairman and CEO Bill Hornbuckle said the company is urging guests to wear masks while in the casinos and is limiting the number of people allowed inside.

"It goes without saying that mask-wearing is essential for us to keep everyone safe. We always moderate the number of people we allow in the building because we want to make sure people feel comfortable," he said.

8:43 a. m.

Venetian opens

On Thursday, it was a quiet morning outside the Venetian, with about a dozen hotel guests and tourists waiting for the 9 a. m. opening.

Eyal Ben Shushan and Suzette Suarez came to Las Vegas from Florida on Thursday. The Shushans come to Las Vegas every year, and this time they plan to stay at the Venetian until Sunday.

"We love Vegas," they said. "Honestly, we're not going to do too many spots because we love the architecture and everything. Honestly, we're not going to play too much because we love the architecture and everything."

Suarez, a nurse, said she was looking forward to her vacation, and Ben Shushan said she was ready to celebrate her birthday this weekend.

The couple said they felt very safe traveling and staying in hotels. "What we need is to get the economy going, and Vegas is so important to that."

Kathy Masullo and her mother, Georgia Hess, waited nearly an hour for the Venetian to open.

Hess said she didn't realize it had reopened.

"We were closed," she said. "We didn't know it was opening day."

The Illinois residents visit Las Vegas with their family about three times a year, but this will be just the two of them. They plan to come next month as a couple.

Hess said she's looking forward to winning at the casino, while her daughter Masullo sees it as an opportunity to spend quality time with her mother.

"Just enjoy everything that's going on and get some sense of normalcy -- whatever that may be -- a new normal," she said.

Henderson to Strat

At 8 a. m. Thursday, the door from the parking lot was unceremoniously opened and a handful of people poured into the Strat. Inside, people waved to workers wiping down slot machines and poker chips. Drew Kasen, a Henderson man who describes himself as an "international grandmaster of the game of bridge," waited with a suitcase in hand for the door to open.

At 8:00 am, he was a 7 0-yea r-old, who had a face mask unlike many other customers, and said he has been in a casino for 20 years to play Claps. He celebrated his resumption and took a room for two nights to "get out of the house."

"And Caesen said.

On the casino floor, all slot machines seemed to be running, but the chairs were moved and left directly from the adjacent machines. Most of the dozens of customers scattered between slot machines did not mask, but there was enough space to eliminate the social atmosphere. About five poker and black jack tables are open until 9 am, and I can see employees wearing gloves wearing masks cleaning the mountains of chips.

Employees were walking to the front entrance and checked the body temperature of the people in the check, but the temperature control was not established at the entrance beside the sel f-checkout area.

The area around Sky Pod was almost quiet one hour after the opening. According to the officials, the observatory of the tower was scheduled to open at 10:00 am, but the thrilling vehicle will not open until 2:00 pm. Friday

"Vegas Returns"

On Thursday, when the sun rose from the Freemont Street, Gambler Eddie Gonzales came out of Freemont with three friends. He had some bets and did not lose, but he had not won.

"Not yet," Gonzales said. "I'm still winning.

Gonzales went to D's D's in Las Vegas, but was always the same except to check the body temperature at the entrance. He said he felt a good atmosphere between regular customers.

"Vegas is reviving." We are optimistic that he will come back.

4:55 am

End of 3 months waiting

Many Williams waited this day for almost three months.

Las Vegan has been working for two days, so he drank a few cocktails, and relaxed with D and Freemont.

At 4:30 am, the inside of the D was full of vibrant, and dozens of customers were gambling at the bar and drinking alcohol. Williams called pandemic closure a "depressing time." Now he is looking forward to the future of the city.

"The resumption of Las Vegas excites me.

"The only difference in such a place is when you enter the store. "

3:12 am

When I scanned my body temperature with D, there were no more than 98 degrees of dozens.

One woman ran at 95 and 4 degrees. According to Mei York Linic, hypothermia develops when human body temperature is 95 degrees or less.

The thermal scanner used in D is located in something like a metal detector, and the visitors can see the body temperature by holding it over a green point that lites the wrist.

A guest with a body temperature of 100 or 4 degrees or more will not be able to enter the casino if a test exceeding its body temperature after a 1 5-minute relaxing time.

The wrist scanner seems to be the most accurate gauge for body temperature measurement.

2:35 am.

Before the grand opening of the casino at 12:01 am, about 100 people were lined up at some of the Green Valley Lunch Resort Paseo Verde Parkway in Henderson.

The audience counted down from 10 seconds and cheered when the door opened. "One, two, three, Las Vegas!" A man shouted.

Checked with thermography scanner. The staff recommended a mask to customers who did not wear a mask, but it seems that about 70 to 75 % of customers refused to wear it.

All the slot bank seats have been removed. Many slot machines were smoking cigarettes.

In the table game, the seats were reduced than usual, but they were crowded. There were three seats on the Blackjack table. At the minimum of $ 10, a man picked up $ 1. 400 and started playing $ 200 with two hands at a time.

The sportsbook was open, with a facilitator and a supervisor resident. At 2:30 am, the Korean Baseball Organization's Lotte Competition Battle began at the ESPN, and for the first time after closing the store, the sports broadcast returned to the big screen in the book.

12:40 am.

Count

D Las Vegas employees are walking while counting the number of people on the second floor. Casino is to be operated with a 50 % containment.

12:30 A. M.

Further gambling

Thirty minutes after the opening, the mood in the Golden Nuggets was the most wel l-described, especially the man who was a little drunk: "Everyone did it!"

The visitors seemed to be pleased to have returned.

The Quickhot Super Winner Slot Machine hit, and the prize of Monica Hailman has rolled in.

"It's going well so far," said a 5 3-yea r-old woman living in Huson, California.

She bet $ 100, won a big win and got $ 435, but did not gamble. She says she will be in this town until Sunday and will still be gambling.

2:02 am

New common sense and COVID concerns

At the entrance of both the Free Mont Street to Golden Nugget, a hygiene station with a han d-washing sink and a hygiene station with a disinfecting wet tissue greeted visitors.

The reporter did not know this.

Approximately 20 % of customers who visited Golden Nugget wore a face mask, but all employees seemed to wear face masks.

Some of the customers wearing the face cover had their mouths covered but did not cover their nose. The other masks were hanging on the neck, and people were drinking drinks and smoking.

The slot machines were divided into one of the no n-functional machines, missing chairs, and both. Similarly, the gambling seat of the bar was separated by a poster to sit every seat. Some bars followed the rules of one seat, but they were standing behind their seats together.

While sitting in slots and bars, they generally followed the rules. However, people flocked around the roulette and craps table, sometimes standing on their shoulders.

On the casino floor, the cleaning staff swept away empty slot machines and dragged large trash cans. Table game employees wiped the table counter when people left the table.

12:53 am.

Preventive disinfection

According to Dustin Bossas, a casin o-operated director of Red Rock Resort, the casino uses biopr o-protect 500 used in hospitals.

It functions as a preventive disinfectant, coating the surface and killing bacteria immediately. The effect will last three to 6 months.

"I took out the chips one by one and cleaned it with a toothbrush." I did the same thing for all visitors, such as cards, dice, machines, and pylons, and then sprayed biopr o-500 to all. "

According to Bossian, in addition to preventive agents, there are employees who regularly clean the machine, and they burn the table every time the dealer is replaced.

Around 1:00 pm, the atmosphere of Red Rock was not much different from (used to) as a normal casino night. Noisy and busy. But now, about on e-third of customers are wearing masks.

12:45 am.

"I'm here all night"

One of the first customers to enter the D Las Vegas just after midnight was casino regular Danchino Bouchard, wearing a hotel hoodie.

Bouchard said he came almost every day the D was open and was counting the days until the machines and table games were back and he could play the tables again.

"Coming here today felt like a throwback," he said.

"Coming here today felt like going to a big game."

He calls himself Gambler Advantage and says casino games are his only source of income.

"It's been tough. I've had a very humiliating experience," he said. "No income, no unemployment, nothing. I had to borrow money from my ex-wife back home."

Bouchard, who plays at casinos regularly, said he could tell the moment he walked into a casino how clean it was.

"When I walked in, I don't know if everyone saw it the way I did, but it looked like the future. It looked clean. I could tell the difference in the smell from when it closed down to now."

With no game plan for his first night back on the casino floor, Bouchard is just going with the flow. "I'll wait for the machine to tell me, then I'll lie back and take a look. I'll be here all night," Bouchard said.

12:40 a. m.

"I can't forget the excitement of Las Vegas. I'm ready to lose money."

Luan Jalad (50) and his mother, Lien McKay, 72, drank toel, pineapple, and Lime Stone Margarita at a bar outside Golden Nugget. At 11:40 pm, there were people in the bar.

Jalad traveled for a fou r-day drive from his home in Frint, Michigan to visit his mother in Las Vegas. She had saved money to visit Las Vegas for the first time in three years, but the check of the Kears Act, a dollar, 200 cent, was boosted and finally went on a journey.

"I wanted to play," he said.

Jalad said his mother was wearing a mask and was planning to find it when he entered the casino, but he was not worried about his conclusions. At last, McKay, who was pleased to be able to come to the town for the first time in two months, stretched his back and called out to other excitement on the way, and the daughter always handed a bottle with a disinfectant. It was not full, but it has never been careful.

"I thought I was busy now," said Jalad.

Las Vegas's 5 3-yea r-old Jesse Brown, who was waiting outside the entrance, was excited to sit and slot, but the resumption of casinos was also excited to be able to return to work. I was.

Outside the entrance of the casino at the corner of Freemont Street and Casino Center Bourvard, more people began to line up over time until 12:01 am.

"It's the first time in Las Vegas that you have to line up in the casino," said Brown.

When the casino opened at 12:01 am on Thursday, the countdown began among people and LED fireworks were launched on the dome.

Street Performer Resurrection

The experience at the Free Mont Street basically means the return of a street performer under the LED dome.

Stanley Ponansky (47 years old) is not a veteran performer in downtown Las Vegas. He moved to Las Vegas nine months ago and will be his first job tonight.

I used to work as a haunted artist, but I wanted to ask how much money he was earning on street artists.

"I wanted to try a different talent and now I want to do myself," says Ponansky.

He seems to be painted in silver like a statue, squatting with one leg and supporting his body.

"It's like a balance statue," he said.

Ponansky said he had already gained a considerable amount of chips and enjoyed interacting with stakeholders before midnight.

I've been thought to be a "fake" and I'm thinking about what to do with my leg strength. "It's surprising to see people's reactions."

11:32 pm

"I traveled"

James Mortensen, living in Portland, Oregon, was asked if he had come to the town just to resume casinos.

"I was asked." He said.

Mortensen, whose daughter recently moved to Las Vegas, said he was able to walk through the casino to go to the Yard House bar earlier, but he had to have his temperature taken and wear a mask. There are fewer chairs and all the other machines are empty.

"I'm happy to be here tonight. It's cool to be one of the first to go back there."

11:29 p. m.

This custom also applies to the Fremont Street Experience. I was interviewing someone and a security guard came up to me and asked if I was social distancing with the gentleman.

11:14 p. m.

Families with small children were spotted all over the Fremont Street Experience on Wednesday night, despite the advertised age limit of 21 and older.

Let the party begin

Las Vegas hotel owner Derek Stevens is looking to get the party going again.

Stevens, who owns the D and Golden Gate Downtown, was in a state of excitement Wednesday morning as guests began checking out of his hotel in hopes of gaming returning.

"The Golden Gate and D hotel opened at 11 a. m. today. Everyone was smiling and checking in, happy to be back in Las Vegas.

The people checking in came from all over the U. S., some of them from the 2.

" said Stevens.

Stevens expects a line to form along Fremont Street at 12:01 a. m. Thursday.

"It's going to be full tonight," Stevens said.

For those who try to jump back into the games after midnight, security measures related to the coronation are in place. Gaming floor capacity is limited to 50%, so it won't be the most used place in Las Vegas.

"We'll learn how people react to the new security protocols," Stevens said. "I think people are going to come back and have a good time. That's really what's important, that people have a good time, and obviously in order to have a good time, they need to be safe. "They're going to see some improvements and some changes, but I think from a customer standpoint, they're going to love this new Las Vegas." Casinos reopen after 78-day shutdown
