Over the past few weeks, thousands of developers have contacted thousands of DM A-related changes in iOS, Safari, and App Store, which affect the European Union (EU) apps. As a result of the valuable opinions received, the following policy has been updated and the appendix of the app alternative to the EU has been revised to provide flexibility to developers:
Membership Decisions To make it easier for more developers to sign up to the New Terms, we have removed the legal entity requirement that all membership interests that control, manage, or are controlled by other membership interests must sign the Addendum. This means that legal entities can now choose to sign the New Terms at the developer account level.

Change Back: To reduce the risk of unexpected business changes under the New Terms, such as if you achieve greater scale sooner than expected or change your mind, we now give you the option to end the add-down status of your EU-facing apps and return to Apple's standard business terms. For more information, see the Addendum.

Updates to support app distribution changes in the European Union

Replacement App Purchase Criteria To make it easier for developers who want to purchase replacement apps, we have added new eligibility criteria to allow developers to qualify without a Letter of Credit. For more information, see the Marketplace support page.

You can now submit apps and games built with Xcode 15. 3 and all the latest SDKs for iOS 17. 4, iPados 17. 4, macOS 14. 4, TVOS 17. 4, VisionOS 1. 1, and WATCHOS 10. 4.

Developers who agree to the EU Alternative Add-on Terms for Apps can now submit apps that offer alternative payment options in the EU. You can also count first-year installs for your apps.

The Department of Commerce explains that in the European Union, developers may also distribute notarized iOS apps from alternative app markets. This section provides links to more information about alternative app markets and iOS app notarization.

The following guidance has been updated:

The WWDC23 introduced new SDK privacy states and signature so that app developers more understand how to use thir d-party SDK data, protect software dependence, and provide users with further privacy protection. After spring 2024, if you want to submit new apps or update apps, you need to include SDK privacy statements when adding thir d-party SDKs that are commonly used in the App Store app. Signature is also required when SDK is used as a binary dependence. This feature is advanced for all apps, and we recommend that all SDK adopts this feature to support SD K-dependent apps.

Pre-orders by region now available

A new use case of API that requires reason. Upload a new app or app that uses API (including thir d-party SDK) that requires the reason to the App Store Connect, and display the notification if you have not entered the reason that has been approved in the application privacy statement. At Apple, we believe privacy is a fundamental human right. Many apps rely on third-party software development kits (SDKs). SDKs can provide great functionality, but they can affect how an app handles user data. Peer group benchmarks now available in App Analytics

First, we are introducing new privacy events that describe the privacy practices of third-party code in an application in a single format, so that developers can understand how third-party SDKs are being used. When developers prepare their applications for distribution, Xcode will compile privacy events for all third-party SDKs the developer uses into a single, easy-to-use report. With a comprehensive report summarizing all third-party SDKs found in their applications, it will be even easier for developers to create more accurate privacy diet tags.

Upcoming changes to the App Store receipt signing certificate

From January 18, 2023, the App Store certificate signature certificate will use a new WWDR intermediate certificate. The expiration date of the existing intermediate certificate is February 7, 2023. In most cases, there is no need to change the app due to the change in this certificate. However, it is recommended that you review the application sales and i n-app purchases from the App Store and confirm that the app has no effect.

Upcoming price and tax changes for apps and in‑app purchases

There is no need to do anything to verify App Store transactions using the AppTransaction and Transaction API or VerifyReceitt's Endpoint Service Service.

When verifying an App Store receipt using an App Store receipt signature on the device, the intermediate certificate is not hard code, and the trast chain of the container signature matches the root certificate of Apple Inc. Make sure you are.
