Overview
- Bing services include search and map services, as well as other applications and programs described in this section. Bing services collect and process data in a variety of formats, including ink and typed text, voice data, and images. Bing services are also included in other Microsoft services, such as Microsoft 365, and in certain features of Windows, which we call Bing-powered experiences.
- When you perform a search or use features that allow us to perform searches or enter commands on your behalf in experiences that connect with Bing, we collect the search or command you provide (which may be in the form of text, voice data, or images), along with your IP address, your location, a unique identifier in a cookie or similar technology, the date and time of your search, and your browser settings. For example, if you use the Bing Voice-Place service, performance data related to your voice input and speech features will be sent to Microsoft. For more information about how Microsoft manages your voice data, see Speech Recognition Technology. Additionally, if you use image-enabled Bing services, images that you provide will be sent to Microsoft. When you use Bing features, such as Bing Search, to search for a specific word or phrase on a webpage or document, that word or phrase is sent to Bing along with the surrounding content to provide you with relevant search results.
- AnalysisAnalysisBing Bing Search now includes AI web search capabilities using Microsoft Copilot in Bing. This feature supports you by providing relevant search results, reviewing and summarizing from across the web, refining search queries with chat experiences, and inspiring creativity by helping you create user-generated content. Bing's use and collection of personal data through Copilot is consistent with the provision of Bing Core Web Search described in this section. For more information about Copilot on Bing, see Copilot on Bing: An approach to responsible AI.
- Search candidate. The search candidate function sends the characters entered by the customer and the contents clicked by the customer to search for search and location information for the Microsoft Edge browser. This allows customers to provide highly relevant proposals when entering search. To turn on or off this function while using the Bing search, access the Bing settings. There are also ways to control this feature in other experiences, such as Microsoft Edge browsers, such as browsers. Windows 10 and Windows 11 search boxes cannot turn off search candidates. It is possible to hide search boxes and taskbar icons.
- BING Experience Enhancer of Bing Desktop and Bing Toolbar. If you use a BING desktop or Bing toolbar to participate in the Bing Experience Increased Program, we will have customers visited the website addresses to improve search ranking and relevance. Collect additional data on how you used a specific Bing application. In order to protect your privacy, we do not use data collected through the Bing Experience Increased Program to track customers, contact customers, or post ads targeting customers. The Bing Experience Increased Program can be turned off at any time with the Bing desktop settings or Bing toolbar. Finally, the information collected through the Bing Experience Increased Program is deleted 18 months later.
- Holding and publication. The Company deletes the entire IP address in six months and deletes the cookies and other cros s-session identifiers used to identify a specific account or device 18 months later, to separate the saved search query. 。
Personalization with a Microsoft account. Some Bing services provide more fulfilling experiences, such as signing in with a personal Microsoft account, synchronizing search history between devices. Summary
Feedback Hub provides a way to collect feedback about Microsoft products and installed first-party and third-party applications. When you use Feedback Hub, Feedback Hub periodically reads the list of installed applications to determine which applications are available for you to submit comments. Feedback Hub determines which applications are installed on your device through public APIs. In addition, for HoloLens, Feedback Hub uses your camera and microphone if you choose to share your environment and voice input. It also uses your picture and document libraries to access screenshots and screen recordings that you attach to submit as part of your comments.
Feedback HUB can sign in with your personal Microsoft account or an account provided by organizations (work, schools, etc.) used to sign in to Microsoft products. If you connect to your work or school account, you can send feedback to Microsoft in cooperation with the organization. Feedback provided using a workplace or school account or Microsoft's personal account may be open to the public according to the settings configured by the organization administrator. Speech . Microsoft offers both device-based speech recognition and cloud-based (web-based) speech recognition technology.
- When you enable the online speech recognition setting, applications can use Microsoft's cloud-based speech recognition. Also, in Windows 10, you can enable the online speech recognition setting to use voice input in Windows.
- When you enable speech recognition when you set up your HoloLens device or install Windows Mixed Reality, you can use your voice for commands, dictation, and app interactions. Both device-based and web-based speech recognition settings are enabled. When both settings are turned on, your device is always listening for your voice input and sending voice data to Microsoft's cloud-based speech recognition technology while the device is turned on.
- If you use the Microsoft clou d-based voice recognition technology, whether it is enabled in the voice recognition setting, or a dialogue with HoloLens or audio input, Microsoft collects and collects your audio recording. Use to create text transit of spoken language contained in audio data and provide audio recognition service. Microsoft does not save, display, or hear your audio record without permission. For more information about how Microsoft manages your audio data, see the voice recognition technology.
- You can use devic e-based voice recognition without sending audio data to Microsoft. However, Microsoft's clou d-based voice recognition technology provides more accurate perception than devic e-based voice recognition. Even if the online voice recognition setting is off, audio services other than clou d-based, such as live captions, narrators, and audio access, continue to function, and Microsoft does not collect voice data.
- You can always turn off online voice recognition. This will no longer send your voice data to Microsoft. If you are using the HoloLens or Windows Mixed Reality headset, you can always turn off your devic e-based audio recognition. This will prevent the device from hearing your voice input. Click here for more information about Windows voice recognition.
Turn on the audio. Windows provides a function to respond to the supported application based on the unique audio keyword to the application.
If the application is allowed to hear the voice keyword, Windows will actively listen to those keywords in a microphone. Once the keywords are recognized, the application will be able to access your speech recording, edit recording, take action, and respond in the same way as verbal response. The app can send a voice record to its own service on the cloud and process the command. Each application must obtain your permission before accessing audio recording.
In addition, you can enable voice activation when the device is locked. When enabled, even when the device is locked, the related apps can keep listening to the microphone for voice keywords and start for those who are talking near the device. When the device is locked, the app can access the same series of functions and information as when the device is unlocked.
You can turn off voice activation at any time. Learn more about voice activation in Windows.
- Even if you turn off voice activation, some third-party applications and desktop services may eavesdrop on your microphone and collect voice input. Learn more about third-party desktop apps and how they can access your microphone even if you turn off these settings.
- Voice typing. In Windows 11, Dictation has been updated and renamed Voice Typing. Voice typing allows you to perform a speech-to-text transcription service using device-based and online speech recognition technology. You can also contribute voice clips to help improve voice typing. You can still use Voice Typing even if you don't provide voice clips. You can change your voice typing settings at any time. Microsoft will not store, view, or listen to your voice recordings without your permission. Learn more about Microsoft and your voice data.
Voice access. Windows allows anyone, including people with mobility disabilities, to use their voice to interact with the computer and author text. For example, voice access supports scenarios such as opening and switching applications, web browsing and reading, and email. Voice Access leverages the latest speech recognition on the device to accurately recognize your voice and is supported without an Internet connection. When a user invokes Voice Access, it uses the device's microphone. Learn more about Voice Access here.
Ink and keystroke personalization. We collect your typed and handwritten text to provide a customized word list, better character recognition to help you type and write on your device, and text suggestions that appear as you type and write.
You can turn off ink and keystroke personalization at any time. This will delete the client word list stored on your device. If you want to turn it back on, you will need to recreate your word custom list. Learn more about personalizing ink and keystrokes in Windows here.
