Do I need a degree to become a game artist?

There is no fixed way to become a game artist. Some people get a game art degree, while others get a graphic design degree. Some people aim for computer graphics and animation.

Regardless of the selected degree, this program should be your help:

Acquire the tools you need to create unique characters, creatures, and environmental designs. C o-producing projects that attract the employer's eyes and imagination.

Gain the confidence and connections necessary to be active in the industry.

  • Fortunately, game art degrees can help you achieve all three.

"We will prepare students for gaming development and simulation careers in game art and development," said Max-Charahan, Deputy Director of SNHU. "The experience of students gaining with 2D, 3D graphics software and game engines can apply these creative and technical skills to an exciting and challenging creative project."

What is a game art degree?

  • Game art degrees, as the name implies, is a program specializing in video games artwork production.

If you get a game art degree, you can learn how to create the parts that people see in the game. You can also draw the top heroine of a firs t-person game or an action adventure last boss. You can also make coins that players collect to reach the next level in mobile puzzle games, or create a fictitious steam punk world with RPG.

By exploring fields such as digital sculptures, 3D modeling, animation, and environmental design, you can learn how to create a project that can be used in the industry. And if you're lucky, you'll be able to make the player growl.

  • Can I get a game art degree on the Internet?

Of course. Both those who want to start a career or want to turn to a new career can bring out the potential for the future by learning online.

The degree of our game art is 100 % online, so you can get the flexibility necessary to improve your career without interrupting your life.

  • That was the motivation to make John Lania (20 years old), who graduated from SNHU game art. "I wanted to get a degree since I left the army, but I had a hard time finding a program specializing in game development, flexible and affordable."

When he found SNHU, John suddenly returned to the world of higher education. However, it wasn't that he was away from the game for many years.

"I was worried about time constraints, workloads, and the number of various classes in front of me. It was very realistic.

  • Still, John did it. He enrolled, worked hard, established his voice as an artist, and became a proud graduate.

"It's my best pride to see my degree on the wall now," he said.
