August 30, 2008 | Hold the ball in the Angelus match |
Casey is 8 years old. I live in Phoenix. His family is in the town for his brother Troy's Ice Hockey Tournament in Valencia and his mother's 80th birthday to celebrate at home on Sunday. Casey participated in a cousin's Bret in the Angelus vs Rangers. My cousin Bret was a professional golfar, who won the first domestic tournament, North East Pennsylvania Classic last week. He turned 70-70 and missed the cut with one stroke. One month before the 2007 Big West Conference Champion, he won his first victory in the Professional Tournament, the opening game of the Adams Golf Pro Tour Tour Series.
Brett took the next photo of Casey and immediately emailed his father (my brother Tom).
In the Circle of Life corner, the logo of the retro angels hat, which was worn by Casey, was designed by his grandfather. The hat debuted in 1971 and was used throughout the season. The lowercase "A" probably did not assume a pitch known as Big A. Nevertheless, Angels had a promotional retro hat on May 15. This hat seems to be as popular now.
Casey and Brett will go to the Angels vs Rangers tonight. However, this time it is not lined up in the front row. Instead, the cousin will use my clu b-level tickets. The possibility of catching balls is low. Nevertheless, Jeled Weaver will pitch for Hellors, so you'll see a good match.
How can I miss the Weaver pitching? Now, Tom and I go to Valencia to see Troy's ice hockey match. My brother Gary is a coach.
This is the fun of the family.

August 29, 2008 | THT fielder data, 2004-2007 |
Process (outline)
The methodology is described quite deeply in the link above, but let's take a quick look at it. Basically, we have data on performance inside and outside the "zone" specified by each field. We use both scope to find out how much the fielder is worth or below the average. Here's a simple example.
Nome r-50 games, 40 games, . 8 RZR (play count/ bez) average RZR (short) --82 League average number of plays (in 50 games) --41 games
In other words, Nomer plays one lower than the average in the zone. The only difference is that it is not exactly what the athlete gained outside the zone. Assuming that the opportunity in the i n-zone reflects the chance of the out of zone, the biz is used as a substitute for the OOZ chance. If you're confused here, check the link above.
Use the conversion of Chris Dial to convert plays above average / average to average or lower to average or lower. That's it. Not so difficult.
Position average
If you look closely at the position average for each year (although others do it), you will notice that there are quite a big difference. For example, RZR in the outfield for 4 years is as follows:
2005 2005 2006 2006 LF 0. 63 0. 633 0. 861 0. 861 CF 0. 796 0. 894 0. 894 RF 0. 65 0. 648 0. 888 0. 877
The average RZR on the left from 2004 to 2005 (the number of plays in the zone / the total number of balls in the zone) jumped to 85 in 2006 and 2007. Do you notice that the same thing is happening with the right wing? Certainly, the outfielder did not suddenly improve in the 2005 season. Rather, through baseball information solutions (THT obtained data here), something happened in how to design the zone or how to handle flyball and line drive.
Uchino has some differences, but not so bad. There are many ways to deal with this issue (check the first link in the last paragraph), but here you should be noted that you only calculate the annual statistics (that is, the numbers like Mr. NET). Not trying to normalize). If you want to download the data at the bottom of the page, you will be able to see the average of all positions.
Best team and worst team
This is from 2004 to 2007, including the total of the numbers of all players of each team, indicating the total score of the team that exceeded the average and the team.

In 2007, the Atlanta Braves outfielders would have been one of the most defensive outfielders in recent years, at least in this figure. Let's find out:
A. Jones 31. 1 Diaz 19. 1 Frankaa 15. 0 Harris 8. 6
This is like an outfielder average of 74 points. And there was no outfielder with the average score (except that Pete or was overlooking one ball in his zone).
In 2006, Cardinals was supported by two infielder, the first, Albert Puhols (30 hits and 7 hits) and the third Scott Lauren (31 hits and 4 hits). In 2004, the Phillies was Jim Some (18, 7), David Bell (14, 2), Jason Michaels (12, 3), and other players in Plus 5.

Ωχ. The Yankees participated in three times, and the 2005 team was the worst in the past four seasons. The worst is Derek Zeter (-43. 6), Robinson Kano (-35. 9), Bernie Williams (-24. 7), and Gerie Chefield (-18).
The performance of Tampa Bay '07 was better teamwork, but Elija Duke (-13. 8) and Akinori Iwamura (-10. 5) appeared below. Reds '05 outfield is Ken Griffy Jr., Adam Dan, and Willie Mo Pena. Needless to say.

You can download the spreadsheet of 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007 from here.
I want you to use these spreadsheets freely. Also, these calculations were all done, so there may be mistakes.
Anyway, with almost five years of data, we can start to understand the field more deeply through these numbers that can be used freely. In the next few months, I would like to see aging, predictions, reliability of these numbers, and how to fight benches. But it's true that you can start right now.

August 28, 2008 | Prospect evaluation: AL East |
For the next six weeks, ranking promising stocks that people cooperated in choosing in the comments section of the article. The points to be considered when choosing a prospect are 1) tools, 2) statistics, 3) history, 4) competition / age level. The players must be rookie. In other words, pitchers must not exceed 50 major leagues and players at the MLB level at 130 a t-level.
Feel free to comment on who you think is the best professional specification in this division and which team has the best minor league system.
Baltimore Oriols pitchers: Jake Arietta (Double A, right pitcher), Cholly Sport (Double A, right pitcher), Pedro Beato (Hi A, Right pitcher), Brandon Elbe (Hi A, right pitcher), David Hernandez (Double A, right pitcher), Brian Matus (firs t-ranked in 2008, left pitcher), Brad Bargain (Double A, right pitcher), Chris Tillman (Double A, right pitcher), Cam Mikorio (MLB, right pitcher), Kam Mikorio (MLB, right pitcher). 1st place nominated, left batter), Brad Bargesen (double A, right batter), Chris Tillman (double A, right batter), Cam Micolio (MLB, right batter), Tim Bascom (HIGH-A, right batter ), Zack Briton (A ball, left batter), Lewis Noel (A ball, right batter), Tony Butler (A ball, left batter)
Hito Matt Waterers (Double A, catcher), Nolan Rimold (Double A, outfielder), Mike Costanza (Triple A, Third Best), Billy Rowell (High A, Third Best), Brandon Snider (High A, first base) Hands), Miguel Abreille (Hi A, second baseman), Chris Bin Yard (HIGH-A, nominated batter), Ryan Adams (A team A, second baseman), mat angle (A team, outfielder), Tyler Corodney (Tyler Corodney) Short season, third baseman)
Comment Now, who forgot that you should be in the top 15? Weather or Tillman? Or is there a Dark Horse candidate? The pitchers seem to be stronger than the hitting team, except for the Weaters. Looking at the pitchers in this system, it is hard to imagine that if Elbe, Tilman, and Arietta could maintain their health, it would be a great success in a few years.
Toronto Blue Jays pitcher David Parsie (MLB, lef t-pitched left hit), Brad Mills (double A, left pitch), Scott Richmond (Triple A, righ t-handed), Bret Cecil (Triple A) , Left throw left hit), Ricky Romero (triple A, left pitch left hit), Lewis Pele (A team, left pitch), Mark Zepzinsky (A team, left pitch), Robert Ray (Triple A, righ t-handed hit), Tim Collins (A team, left pitching left)
Baller: Travis Snider (Triple A, outfielder), J. P. Ap. Alentivia (Double A, catcher), Brian Jeroro Roman (Triple A, catcher), David Cooper (2008 first nomination, first baseman), Kevin Arene (A ball, third baseman), Justin Jackson ( A-ball, shortstop), John Trisano (A ball, second baseman). 1st place nomination, first baseman), Kevin Arries (A, third baseman), Justin Jackson (A, A, arm), John Trisano (A, second baseman), Eric Island (A ball / outfielder), Blood ・ Emouse (HIGH-A ・ Diet), Barbino Huenmeyer (rookie third baseman), Scott Campbell (DOUBLE-A, second baseman)
Good comment, who forgot that you should be in the 15th place? Blue Jays has absolutely many left pitchers, which are always very valuable products. At first, I would like to say that the batter is stronger overall than the pitcher, but many of the really interesting batters are laid out and dexterous (wait, this is Toronto?).
Tampa Bay Rays pitcher David Price (Triple A, left throw left hit), Jacob Maggie (injured, left pitch), Wade Davis (Triple A, right pitch), Jeff Naman (Triple A, Right pitch), Jeremy Helixon (double A, righ t-handed hit), James Hauser (Triple A, left pitcher), Heath Rollins (Triple A, right pitcher), Kyle Robstein (2008 2 rounds (2008) Alex, left pitcher), Alex Kobu ( A-ball, right pitcher), Nick Barneys (minor season, right pitcher)
Hito: Reed Brignac (Triple A, shortstop), Desmond Jennings (Hi A, outfielder), Ryan Loister (Hi A, outfielder), Tim Beckham (2008, 1st round, shortstop), John. Jaso (triple A, catcher), line fuse (double A, first baseman)
Good comment, who forgot that you should be in the 15th place? In recent years, Rays has been focusing on pitcher drafts rather than batters. Many of the hig h-ranking players have found good value for pitchers such as Davis, Helixon, and Rollins, not even the first draft.
1st place nominated, righ t-handed hit), Brian Price (2008 1st place snap, righ t-handed hit), Felix Doublon (high A, left throw left hit), block Handinger ( A-ball, right throw right. )
Hito George Kotaras (Triple A, catcher), Chris Carter (Triple A, OF-1B), Lars Anderson (Double A, first baseman), Aaron Bates (Double A, first baseman), Argenis Diaz (double) A, shortstop), Josh Lady (Double A, outfielder), John Still (Hi A, catcher), Chiang Chikachi (Hi A, δ β βασι), Yamaic Navalro (high A. Sugin), Ryan Kalish (high A.) A, outfielder), Jason Place (Hi A, outfielder), Will Middlebrox (short, shortstop), Ryan Dent (short / shortstop), Michael Almansor (A, shortstop), Oscar Taeheda (A) ·shortstop)
Good comment, who forgot that you should be in the 15th place? Boston's spending plan has recently become well known, but I think it's great. I love seeing talented players drafting and becoming a professional. I admit that I need to review the draft system. But I don't intend to blame Boston for scattering money. I do so. This club is doing very well in overseas markets. There are at least six interesting players who have contracted with foreigners. Boston certainly covers all basses.
New York Yankees pitcher Cox (Triple A, righ t-handed hit), Mark Mark melanchon (Triple A, righ t-handed), Alan Horn (Triple A, righ t-handed hit), George Contos (Double A, right Right hit), Christian Garcia (high A, righ t-handed hit), Umbert Sanchez (high A, righ t-handed), Andrew Blackman (injured, righ t-handed), Delin Betanses ( A-ball) , Jeremy Bryhi (righ t-handed right hit), Jeremy Bryhi (2008's first place, left throw left).
Baller: Austin Jackson (Double-A, outfielder), Frank Cerberi (Double-A, catcher), mat cucumber (HIGH-A, second base), Damon sublett (HIGH-A, second base), Eduardo Nunes (HIGH-A/Sugar), Luis Nunes (HIGH-A, Infielder), Jesus Montello (A ball 1b/C), Austin Romine (A-ball, catcher), Brad Satoru (A ball shortstop)
Comment Now, have you forgotten the players who should be in the top 15? New York has been negligible with a huge amount of money. There are some interesting professional specs, but no player is really surprised. Jackson and Montero may be close to WOW. Nevertheless, New York always has a great ability to turn OK promising stocks into a really good player like Robinson Kano. Overall, Boston seems to have better minor league systems and scouts than New York.

August 30, 2008 | 2009 free agent preview: outfielder and nominated batter |
The following lists include many famous players, but most of them have entered their 30s and have peaked. In fact, only Rocco Baldeli and Adam Dan are free agents under the age of 30.
Outfielders Bobby Abreu NY Moises Alou NY Garrett Anderson* LAA Rocco Baldelli TB Willie Bloomquist C Emil Brown Oak Pat Burrell Phi Endy Chavez NY Ad Dan Ali Jim Edmonds CHC Cliff Floyd TB Brian Giles* SD Ken Griffey Jr. Ibañez C Mark Kotsey Atlas Jason Michaels* Pitt Greg Norton Atlas Jay Payton Val Scott Podsednick Col Manny Ramirez Rad Juan Rivera LAA
The Yankees exercised their option on Bobby Abreu last winter, and the veteran outfielder hit . 297/. 369/. 467 in 2008 and 2007. He responded by posting a slightly better batting average than in 2013 (. 283/. 369/. 445). However, his walk rate (10. 1%) and BB/SO (0. 61) are the worst of his career, despite still walking a lot of batters per appearance. His secondary average (. 291) and stolen base rate (58%) are also the worst of his career. Add in the fact that he's a below-average hitter and will turn 35 next March, and it's hard not to be skeptical of Abreu.
Moises Alou had surgery and is out for the season. He's now 42. If that's the case, Alou will hit 303/. 369/. 516 with 332 HR. Based on his comps, Felipe's son also looks like a worthy candidate for the fantasy hall of fame.
The Angels are unlikely to pick up Garret Anderson's (. 284/. 318/. 426) $14 million team option, and will likely try to either get him out on the $3 million clock (his buyout cost) or negotiate a short-entry contract that is more representative of his current playing ability. The Halos showed their loyalty by signing him to a four-year contract extension for a whopping $48 million in April 2004, so it's time for the now 36-year-old GA to do the same if he's interested in finishing his career in Anaheim.
The Rays declined Rocco Baldelli's club option on April 1, paying his $4 million buyout. The 2000 sixth-round draft pick, who spent the first four months of the season with mitochondrial dysfunction, returned two weeks ago, going 23 for 8 with two RBIs. Baldelli could help Tampa's trickle-down stretch and his marketability this offseason, as the undersized 27-year-old has played in just 135 games since the end of the 2004 campaign.
Pat Barrel, 32 years old in October, will be a free agent in the Phillies for the first time in October. The barrel, which was nominated for the first place in the 1998 draft, signed a fiv e-year contract with the MLB in the summer and signed a si x-year extension agreement before the 2003 season. Pat the Bat is a player who can hit it, ranking OBP (. 388), SLG (. 548), OPS (. 936), HR (30), and BB (89). With the same results and positions as Adam Dan, the barrel should now get a huge financial reward for the third time in his career.
Arizona won Adam Dan in the early this month in Dallas Bucks, Wilkin Castiyo, and later the right to send the nominated players to Cincinnati. Dan may be only a 7-week rental (if Diamond Bucks enters the playoffs, it may be longer), but if he plays an active part in the phase, he must not exclude Arizona with a free agent draft. 。 The 6-6 and 275 pound slugger is a pace of 40 home runs for the fifth consecutive year and 100 balls.
Ken Griffe Jr. is the last year of the $ 116. 5 million contract for nine years. White socks will definitely pass the $ 16 million club options in 2009, and will split the $ 4 million motorcyout costs with the Reds. It is undecided where the junior will play next year, but in any case, he will retire as more than 600 pitches in career, 10 times gold grabs, and sixth place in history.
Vladimir Guerrero (. 287/. 352/. 500) has experienced the worst of career, but there is no doubt that Angels will exercise the $ 15 million club option next year. It may be a genius in terms of timing to return Vlad again and then let go. He clearly loses tone on plates, fields, and running, and sometimes needs to rest on his knees, but the 2004 MVP is still productive (OPS+123), and it is likely to hold for another year. I like to explain the overall concepts verbally and visually and give them the first opportunity to adapt to themselves. I incorporate the strengths of the players and build them from there. From an engineering point of view, focusing mainly on the body position and swing orbital, so that you can hit the fastball from the viewpoint of the approach. There are many ways to make things complicated, but I try to boil each player into one or two simple focus points.

Giving this mysterious outfielder for $ 80 million in 37 to 40 seasons seems to be a hig h-risk gambling. Attention. |

August 30, 2008 | Of course, anything that might reach a new long-term level should send fear into the rest of the league. Sizemore is already a player of historical importance, since there weren't many center fielders early in his career who could do both with the glove and the bat like Grady could. He won a Gold Glove in 2007, and his defensive statistics up until last season show that he was one of the best defenders. Instead, take a look at the table below: |

2009 free agent preview: catcher and infielder
Rich Rederer
As the baseball season approaches the end of summer, I think it is useful to consider the 2009 free agent (FA) player.
If more teams have a lon g-term contract with young players and buy free agents for more than a year, talent pools are likely to be aging over time and / or decrease. For the next few years, the top 20 players may be the beginning of the free agent. On the other hand, the major league teams are still paying money. In other words, the best players have a lot of interest and fabrics. In addition, the Yankees have an annual salary of $ 88 million from the books, and the construction of the new stadium may have a lot of new income next season, and it is highly likely that the pos t-season will be missed for the first time in more than 10 years. You will raise the price of the players and actively bid.
The first of the 3rd series is the 2009 free agent class collector and infielders. The outfielder and pitcher will be introduced in another article. Players with an asterisk after the name are the choices of clubs and / or players.
First Baseball Club RICH AURILIA SF Carlos Delgado* NYM JASON GIAMBI* NYY WES HELMS PHI KEVIN KEVIN KEVIN MILLAR BAL MALK TEIXEIRA LAAAARYA DARYALE WARD CHC
Mets and Carlos Delgado set up $ 12 million in 2009 (with a $ 4 million bike out). The 3 6-yea r-old slugger was a bad start this season (April198/. 297/. 323), but the batting average . 314/. 407/. 407/. 594. At this price, it may be a bargain. However, Delgado, the resurrected Mets leader, may not agree to such a contract. Attention.
The Yankees will reject the $ 22 million club option to Jason Gianbi in 2009 and pay $ 5 million. Jambi, who is 38 years old in January, is still productive as a batter and has a batting average . 250/. 381/. 503. You will have a on e-year contract with the AL team.
Mark Te Sheira (. 302/. 408/. 541) is the winner of this year's free agent. It is rumored that the first baseman of the switch hitter has refused $ 140 billion from Rangers last summer and has called for at least a 1 0-year contract for at least $ 200 million. Angels needs Tex bat and approach (101PA 15BB, 10SO), but will compete for his services with Yankees, Mariners, local Oriols, and probably Mets. If you don't make a thread on the money, just sign up with him. However, I am skeptical of Te Sheira's 34-38 years old, over the past five years.
Second baseman Jamie Carroll* Cle Ray Durham Milk Ellis Oak Mark Grudzielanek KC ORLANDO HUDSON ARI JEFF KENT LAD FELIPE LOPABLO OZUNA Lad
Orlando Hudson (107 games participated in . 305/. 367/. 450) is the best player in a relatively weak second basis group. Gold Glover had a number of three games in the three games, since this month's ligaments were restored to ligaments. The short 3 1-yea r-old is the first free agent and challenges the count. O-DOG has recorded more than 100 OPS+in the past three campaigns. There are only three people, Ian Kinsler, Dan Agra, and Chase Atre.
Jeff Kent, who turned 40, has been significantly reduced this season, both hitting (. 283/. 330/. 424) and fielder (the average of 100 games is 13). I think Dodgers may recall him for another year, but Kent, a future player in the Hall of Fame in NLMVP in 2000, will retire here.
Short Club ORLANDO CARERA CWS Alex CINTRON BAL ALEX CORA BOS ADAM EVERETT Min RAFAEL FURCAL FURCAL FURCAL LAD CESAR IZTURIS STL EDGAR RENTERIA* DET
Orlando Cabrera (. 272/. 326/. 357) is a solid short stop, albeit not aggressive. Although there is no power (7 hits and 7 hits in 585PA), the run is good (22 times in 22 times), and the demand for defense is high. However, the 3 4-yea r-old OC may be tough this winter. As a stop gap waiting for young people to hit, there may be a tw o-year contract team.
If you're healthy, Rafael Furcal is one of the most productive shorts. He recorded . 366/. 448/. 597, but entered the broken person list due to the intervertebralboard on the back and was restored in early July. Dodgers had 18 wins and 14 losses in the 32 games and 47 wins and 51 losses without him. Fercules may return this season. In any case, it would be difficult for the 3 1-yea r-old to repeat a thre e-year total of $ 39 million signing as a free agent in December 2005.
. 332/. Edgar Lenteria, which recorded 390/. 470, was very disappointed in Tigers. It is definitely the worst year (. 264/. 314/. 355) in his 13 years of career. This 3 3-yea r-old is at most middl e-sized in defense, and no longer steals like the past. Lenteria was a little pace in August (. 290/. 342/. 449), and the performance in September seems to be affected by the winter attention.
Third base Club Hank Bra Rock* TEX Joe Crede CWS Chipper Jones* ATL
Rangers can exercise Hank Bra Rock's next season's club options of $ 6. 2 million or let him go at a low of $ 250, 000. Bra Rock, who had been missing for more than three weeks, returned last Friday. The pain on the right shoulder continues, so at least for the time being, you may be driven to the first base. Unless a seve n-year veteran can restore the hot corner, his value is especially the split of his career (against LHP. 227/. 282/. 352 and on the road . 244/. 301/. 398) If you think about it, you will be cautious. I am skeptical.
Joe Credade (. 255/. 323/. 474) has left for more than a month due to a breakdown. He is rehabilitating with triple A knights, probably joined the White Socks this month. His advantages (excellent power and excellent defense) and disadvantages (health and stability) are well known. Crede will be 31 years old next April. When everything is combined, he looks like the poor, Scott Lauren. < SPAN> If you're healthy, Rafael Furcal is one of the most productive shorts. No doubt, Chipper Jones will be in a Braves uniform next season. According to Cot's Baseball Contracts, Atlanta has a club option for $8 million to $11 million (depending on performance and bonuses). If nothing else, the Braves and Jones should look to sign a new contract that keeps the switch-flicking third baseman with the one club he's known for. Always at risk for injury, Jones has been more productive than ever at the plate. Just take a look at his OPS+ over the past four seasons to see for yourself:
2005 33, 151
2006 34, 154
2007 35, 166
2008 36, 173
Jones (. 359/. 460/. 568) is not only getting bigger, but also getting better. While the above trends are unlikely to continue, I would be willing to opt out of his contract and sign him to an extension that would keep him in Atlanta for the next three seasons.
Utility Infielders Club Craig Counsell* MIL Nomar Garciaparra LAD Nick Punto MIN Juan Uribe CWS
Catchers Club Rod Barajas TOR Henry Blanco* CHC Toby Hall* CWS Mike Redmond* MIN Ivan Rodriguez NYY Javier Valentin CIN Jason Varitek BOS Greg Zaun* TOR
There are two old but good players in this group. Ivan Rodriguez (. 329/. 402 total but . 265/. 000 with the Yankees in 16 games) was a two-month rental in New York, but doesn't fit the club's future plans with Jorge Posada expected to return next season.
Jason Varitek is having the worst year of his 11-year career (. 223/. 315/. 370). Boston might be interested in bringing back the starting pitcher, who turns 37 next April, for one more season, rather than the average $10 million he made from 2005 to 2008. But the question is whether his client, Scott Boras, would be okay with such a deal.

Your mission is to list the names of the players who seem to be growing in the cup and their buddy. The bonus point is to choose what happened in the correct date, place, and that day. You may need to check a little to get the correct answer, but all of these mysteries can be solved (excluding the name of the background "hand" scene).
Answer (postscript at 16:30): From the left of the photo, three players, Hank Bauer, Nome Seaburn, and Yogi Bella. The date is June 17, 1956. The place is a visitor clubhouse at the Cleveland Municipal Stadium. Bauer, Seaburn, and Bella released a home run, and the Yankees won the Indians 9 to 4.
The caption of the photo of the AP wire is as follows:"Cleveland, June 17-Yankees Slugger-New York Yankees defeated Cleveland Indians 8-4 and closed the three consecutive games. Left. Win.
At that time, his father was a desk of Long Beach Independent Press Telegram paper, and he had a copy and caption of the photo, and the following memos for editors entitled "Wirephoto Elimination". 。 The victory in the Cleveland Indiances match was erased in all places.
Photographs and annotations from AP make this photo a masterpiece (and probably a masterpiece that has never been announced before). Unfortunately, I rarely see such photos today. Oh, not a cup in the background, just three players with balls and arms with a smile like just won the World Series.
In the box score provided by Retrosheet and BasEBall-reference. com, the later entering the Hall of Fame and Ally Win pitched as a starting pitcher, and the latter did not finish two innings without taking one out. , A wealth of information is included. Lip Coleman, who pitched in the last six innings of the Yankees, contributed to the victory.
Mickey Mantle, who won the MVP and the MVP, had a batting average of . 382 and OPS1. 248 at the time of this match.

When the catcher or fielder interferes. If the play is performed after the obstruction, the violation coach may declare to the referee to decline the penalties for obstruction and accept the play. This choice is made immediately at the end of the game. However, if the batter reaches the first base with hits, errors, ball basses, hit batsman, etc., and at least one other runner progresses, he will continue playing without mentioning the obstruction. < SPAN> Nomination batter

The above lines have been often used in baseball scores. Catchers are often used in baseball scores to indicate catchers, one of baseball statistics orphans. Catchers' obstructions are rarely happened to people, but this is an important event that the official record clerk must report all the outbreaks in the match. This play is not counted as a bat to the batter, but the batter is added to the base ratio by safely reaching the base. However, the batter who has been in the game only once in one game will continue to hit the base. If the batter who made a base for the catcher's obstruction, he has no scoring, but after that, the batter who has gone to the base is usually at his own reputation.

The baseball rules that define the catcher's obstruction are rules 6. 08 (c):
The batter is a runner and has the right to proceed to the first base without being responsible for strikeouts (on the condition that he will go to the first base and touch the first base)
| 21 August 2008 |

Why does the match happen? I have never given a good answer to see this play, but I think most catchers are in disturbing the break ball. And it often happens when the batter's swing is very slow or a catcher hits an unexpected position. In other words, a strange swing and the combination of the catcher trying to pull the ball in an unexpected position are combined. In this case, the bat and gloves enter the collision course.
Pitchers whose swings on plates tend to be very bad seem to be disproportionate to catcher obstruction. Baseball-reference. com has a 64 example of a pitcher since 1956 due to catcher obstruction. Chris Short accounted for 11 of them, and when he played in Brewers in 1973, he was the last pitcher who made a base for catcher. < SPAN> At most, if the batter touches the batter's bat before completing the swing, the catcher intervention is required. And when it happened, no one except the batter, collector, or referee really knew what was going on. The referee calls the time, the batter is instructed to fall first, and for a while to understand what happened. Eventually, "Foul 2" is displayed on the scoreboard, and everyone is confused and looks around. On TV, the announcer tries to find out what happened while watching the replay. A few minutes later, the confusion ends and the match resumes. (Theoretically, any fielder can hinder the swing of the bat and seek intervention, but no such case has occurred).

According to David Nemec's book, The Rules of Baseball, the catcher's obstruction was included in the rules book in 1899. Before that, the catcher sometimes tilted the bat in a grab and tried to disturb the batter's swing. Connie Mac claimed that it was a pioneer in the strategy, probably because he lived long and no one refute. This is because catchers don't have much armor, and to keep their hands, heads, and masculinity. Baseball Beat | The successive king of baseball intercept was Pete Rose, and he reached 29 times in catcher obstruction. His first catch was on August 8, 1963, when the Phillies' Clay Darlumple was obstructed. In recent years, the number of catcher obstruction has increased, but this has increased the number of matches, improved the catcher's armor, and has been set up near the batter, even if it is a few innings. I think this is the cause. That said, the number of pitches is not astounding, and is frequently occurring than a full game shutout.

Pirates, Dale Bella, recorded seven catcher intercepts in 1983, holding a record of the National League. Bella did not call other CIs during the remaining career. There is no complete data of Dale's father, Yogi's father, but there is no yogi stats, so it is highly likely that the gene of the catcher intercept was not inherited by his son.
There have been five players who have reached the catcher twice in the match. In 1965, Pat Coralz was twice in Reds (August 15 and September 29). Others include the Phillies of the Phillies on April 26, 1936, and two Mariners, Dan Meyer on May 3, 1977, and Bob Stinson on July 24, 1979.

Active players have the top number of catcher obstruction calls in Astros Dalline Arstad 13 times. Brewers' Craig Counsel has been fighting with Earthtad twelve times. Elstad is the only player who has seen I personally reached CI. On July 19, 1998, Oriols's Chris Hiles broke Elstad's bat. Or rather, at least I think so. I remember staring at the sun during the match, so it was almost just a rumor that happened at home.
Reds Edwin Enchanacion has recorded eight catcher interference early in his career, and may become the next bigger world in catcher interference. However, the enclanacion has never been convened this year and may lose the momentum for Rose's record.
The catcher's intervention was seven times in the post season and five in the World Series. Washington's Roger Pekin Poe was the first catcher intervention, leading to a full base in the first round of the 7th round. Rose is one in the first round of the 1970 World Series. George Hendrick has released the last World Series in the third round of the World Series in 1982. Pirates Ritchie Hevner (Round 3 in 1974) and Dodgers Mike Socia (Round 5 in 1985) recorded the only LCS catcher intercept.~Active players have the top number of catcher obstruction calls in Astros Dalline Arstad 13 times. Brewers' Craig Counsel has been fighting with Earthtad twelve times. Elstad is the only player who has seen I personally reached CI. On July 19, 1998, Oriols's Chris Hiles broke Elstad's bat. In Boston, when Bambino's curse is solved, it's time to talk about the curse of Daren Lewis. Lewis was first interfered with catchers on September 13, 1998 due to the favor of Tigers Paul Bako. Since then, the Red Sox players have not reached the catcher obstruction, which is the largest drought for any major franchise. How long should Boston citizens suffer? (My book planning on this matter has not progressed anywhere. In the publishing world, the number of books on the theme of red socks has a limit).
In 2008, the catcher obstruction has been judged only nine times. Three of them were from Lyle Overbay, who had never been this year. Karl Crawford twice. Other players have been judged for catching balls, but have not achieved very good results. Metz's Claudio Bargas has been removed from the 40 roaster of Mets and is currently playing with AAA New Orleans. Travis Hafner is shaking most of this year with an injury. Gigelmo Kilos in Oriols has a batting average of . 202 as a backup. Milton Bradley seemed to be more incomprehensible since the catcher obstruction on June 28, but it was a solid year.
For many players, there is no catcher's obstruction even with long careers. Hank Aaron, Willie Maze, Cal Lipken, and Brooks Robinson have never been hindered by catchers in long careers.
Frank Robinson has been obstructed by a long career, which was in Houston on April 27, 1963. Coltz's John Baitman hindered Robinson seven times. Robinson must have been a little upset, but he scored two steals and scored the game in John Edward's RBI single.
As far as I know, there is only one record that the match ended due to the catcher's obstruction. It was on August 1, 1971 when Dodgers greeted the Reds at home. The 11th round, fou r-t o-four, Dodgers was tw o-out, and Willie Crawford was playing against Cincinnati's release, Joe Gibon.
Manny Mota was on the third base of Dodgers, but Mota tried a home steel, if Gibon thought he was not paying attention to himself or that he had no chance to hit Gibbon. Reds catcher Johnny Bench jumped behind the plate and stood on his course to tag Mota.
This enables the 7. 07 rules that are rarely used:
If a runner is on third base and tries to score with a squeeze play or steal, and the collector or other pitcher approaches the base without the ball, steps in front of the base, or touches the batter or the bat, the pitcher is called for a blooper, the batter is awarded first base for interference, and the ball is dead.
Home plate umpire Harry Wendelstedt called catcher interference from the bench, and Gibbon was hit by the bat, and Mota stomped home for the winning run. Rule 7. 07 is unique in that it imposes two different penalties for one action. Catcher interference allows the batter to reach first base and the runner to advance if forced, and bunting allows all runners to advance. So how did Mota score? Did he score on catcher interference or on a blooper?
I discussed this game with Dave Smith of Retrosheet at the SABR convention in St. Louis two years ago. Crawford got an RBI on the play, which he wouldn't have gotten in a blouse.
What do these words tell us about catcher interference? Probably very little. Catcher interference is just a small freak play in the grand scheme of baseball. But it happens, and it has to be measured to balance the box score. It puts you at ease. You can take solace in the care you take to make sure you don't have to.

Wandering the Draft
Mark Hulett
The 2008 draft deadline has come and gone, and the dust has settled. Aaron Crow (Washington), Joshua Fields (Seattle), Gerrit Cole (New York AL).
Both Crowe and Fields are considering playing in independent leagues, while Cole aims to pitch at UCLA as a starting right-hander. Crowe will have to wait until next year to sign with a new club. However, Fields is a senior with no option to return to school, so he did not have to sign on time like the others. He has until the week before the 2009 draft to sign with Seattle, but what are they waiting for? He turned 23 yesterday, and he needs a significant improvement in his control to be an effective reliever in the major leagues (he averaged more than five walks in nine starts over the past two seasons). Fields is sandwiched between two other college relievers who signed for $1. 54 million (Andrew Cashner) and $1. 48 million (Ryan Perry). Cole will have to wait three years, which is a big risk given the fragility of the pitcher and the amount the Yankees turned down (more than $2 million). I understand the desire to get a good education, but $2 million is a pretty good cushion if your major league career doesn't work out.
It was a close call, but the top eight draft picks all came together. Top prospect Tim Beckham and sixth-round pick Kyle Skipworth both signed over a month ago, allowing them to take advantage of valuable development time in the minors. No. 2 overall pick Pedro Alvarez's negotiations with Pittsburgh ended on the wire, but he signed for $6 million. Given last year's fiasco (Daniel Moskos), the Pirates should make the move. Kansas City spent another $6 million on Eric Hosmer, a high school kid who is considered a very advanced offensive player, and paid seven figures for fourth-round pick Tim Melville. He's a talented right tackle who many considered going to college (hence why he fell out of the first round). Interestingly, the small-market Royals spent more on the draft ($10 million) than any other club, according to Baseball America.
Voltimore has signed a major contract with Brian Matus, the top professional specifications of the university, with a $ 3. 2 million contract bonus and a career guarantee of more than $ 6 million. Catcher Buster Posey signed San Francisco for $ 6. 2 million, which may have been the largest overpayment of eight teams. He is talented, but his bat may not be a superstar class.
Yonder Alonso, on the other hand, may be the largest draft bargain for $ 2 million. Nevertheless, he received a major contract and a $ 4. 55 million guarantee. He doesn't fit much on the 25 current Cincinnati roasters of the top rookie and Joey Bot, but the team always finds ways to create a space for star power players. Alonso has achieved solid results for three seasons in college and has excellent discipline to maintain the possibility of 30 home runs. Gordon Beckham will be able to quickly move to the club's minor league system with a contract with White Socks for $ 2. 2 million.
August 28, 2008 | As I will introduce in detail next week, let's briefly see the American League and the National League rookie races. In terms of attack, Geobunny Soto (Chicago NL) and David Murphy (Texas) hit 114 hits. Evan Longolia led the team with 22 home runs (it was gradually growing to . 533), and Soto was only four. Murphy scored 74 RBIs in Texas, but Longolia was only three RBIs. Boston's Jacobee Elsberry outfielder 38 steals are 27 more than the closest competitors. Soto's batting average was 1st, and Cincinnati's Joey Bot was second in . 281. Atlanta's Gregor swing is the top rookie with a base rate of . 371. |

About Madax, Dodgers
Patrick SullivanGreg Madax seems to transfer to Dodgers in Los Angeles. Before you ridicule, think about what Madax is required. He is the axis of pitchers other than Row, Billing Zuri, Kuroda, and Car Show. The following are the results of the pitchers compared to the 2008 Madax results.
IP K/BB K/9 Whip Era #5 LAL 185 1. 70 6. 03 1. 47 47 4. 91 Madax 153. 3. 07 4. 70 1. 22 3. 99
Madax should be a good boost to the backend of the Djers staff in the future. One or two upgrades in six or seven starting pitches may be the difference between the pos t-season golf and early autumn for Los Angeles. Assuming that they didn't let go of too many things here, this seems to be worth it.

White hot
Patrick Sullivan
In the American League, Tampa Bay Raise was a surprise story of the 2008 campaign. The second place is Los Angeles Angels, the third place is Boston Red Sox (not because of the glory of the red socks), and the fourth place is the Yankees.
Chicago White Socks has the highest score in the AL Central and has the third MLB score difference. They are wonderful teams, and if you have any doubts, look at some of your examinations. The following are the rankings in various categories.
Fraud
RBI: 3 OPS: 3 Ops+: 4 AVG: 7 Obp: 7 SLG: 2 HR: 1 (31 more than the total of 2nd)
support
ERA: 4 ERA+: 3 OPS: 5 k/9: 3 k/bb: 1 WHIP: 3 FIP: 2 bullpen ERA: 4
The White Sox are doing well in every way, and the macro signs are great. Alexei Ramirez is currently hitting . 515 as the team's second full-time starter and shows no signs of slowing down. With Ian Kinsler out for the rest of the season, there's no better player at the position. Enter Paul Konerko. He's struggled with injuries and terrible BABIP luck all season, but he's bounced back recently, slashing . 293/. 446/. 561. Oh, and just to be on the safe side, Carlos Quentin is out-hitting Eric Burns this season (oops). The offense needs to keep pounding the ball.
There are those out there who think the pitchers pulled it off with smoke and mirrors. But I think they're right. As much as I think Gavin Floyd was lucky -- and yes, he was -- look at Javier Vazquez. The guy is second in the AL in hits and in the top 10 in K/BB. But he's been pitching lights out in August, so his high-profile stats should start to keep pace with his peripheral metrics. John Danks continues to pitch dazzlingly, Mark Buehle is solid, and the bullpen, led by a resurgent Matt Thornton, is excellent.
It's not going to be easy from here for the Pale Horses. They'll face the Rays, Angels and Red Sox, and close out a 10-game road trip with a crucial three-game series against the Twins in Minneapolis in the final week of the season. Ten of their final 13 games are on the road, including seven against the tough division rival Cleveland Indians. It won't be easy, but it's not going to be easy for any team to outperform the White Sox.
| August 18, 2008 |
There's a song by Tom Petty that goes, "Waiting is the hardest part." I think it's fair to say that the Tampa Bay Rays know this saying, and perhaps the song, well.
The long wait for the major leagues to finish their first season and hand the team over to the provinces, the obsession with aging sluggers disappearing, the wait for a rebuilding process that never happened, and finally the wait for a change of ownership. The latter happened in November 2005, but we waited longer until this year. This was a restructuring of assets, with direction and purpose.
Executives such as Orburi Huff, Frurio Lugo, Danies Baes, and Toby Hall were released in one season without the appointment. Certainly, the days when Brian Medows is shut down and Thomas Perez hits a short, it seems like that, but throughout, B. J. Apton and Delmon Young will soon take over. But it relieved our anxiety.
They gave another player waiting for the worse players. Former top professional specs and useful parts that have been refused by large organizations, such as Greg Norton, Thai Wikington, Carlos Pena, Cho Hisop, A l-Reyes, and other useful parts. There were not many players who wanted to play in tampas, especially at the price they presented at any sacrifice.
The victory is ultimately here, but the residue from the waiting game is obtained by Andrew-Friedman, 18 (not included in Carl-Crawford and Evan-Longolia) out of the 25 players on the active roaster. It is sealed throughout the whole team. Many of the success stories this year are caused by the willingness to control the foresight and the temper crisis. Despite the public anger of not getting a big name or doing a statement, Friedman and the company decided not to withdraw.
There is Grant Balfour, a ho t-blooded Australian who pitches with a probability of 89 %. Balfoa, which was acquired in the trade, was nominated in March, and then solved control problems with triple A Dalum. After returning, he seems to be a relief monster of 13 strikeouts and 3. 57 K/BB ratio 3. 57, rather than a pitcher who recorded 7. 30 balls nine times last year.
Most nights give a fastball to Dionel Nabaro (despite the OPS. 641, the rays that the Rays did not change this off, the emotionally tested catcher). Navalro was 17 % of the ball hit last season, and Babip was . 253. Navalro is the second full season since Friedman won Navalo, Seo Jaeun, and Justin Luziano from Toby Hall and Mark Hendrickson, and this season is the American League Al l-Star Team. Choose.
Joey Gathright and Fernando Cortez were considered for J. P. Howell, whose AAA and MLB stats were so contrasting. Fortunately, Howell's ridiculously high babip has calmed down, and Howell is churning out home runs and establishing himself as one of Joe Maddon's relievers.
Of course, Maddon himself is a symbol of the perseverance this franchise represents. A team that wants to make a statement to their fanbase that losing is not an option could easily cut down on Maddon's two-way options after this season. After all, Maddon's teams finished the past two seasons with the worst records in the league, but the Rays continued to prove that Maddon was the right man to lead this team after the move.
The Rays are now turning their attention to Rocco Baldelli's long-awaited project, which is perhaps the most challenging of the bunch. He probably won't reach Josh Hamilton's status, but Baldelli is one of the original golden boys. As a 21-year-old rookie, he surprisingly broke out in Lou Piniella's starting rotation and didn't do too badly. But as we all know, Baldelli has almost derailed his great potential under a short 130-game race since 2005.
Before this year, it was all rays of hope, and the fans really had them. When Troy Percival signed with the Rays for less money, part of his reasoning was that he felt like this team had a legitimate playoff shot. Most people took it as sugar-coating his desire to be a closer. Cliff Floyd used similar keywords. Ace Scott Kazmir made the boldest statement of spring training, saying this team would definitely compete for a playoff spot. Most people rolled their eyes and said, "We'll see."
August 30, 2008 | August 15, 2008 |
Two weeks ago we looked at the stats of all major leaguers (well, everyone except collectors and pitchers). Today I thought it would be a good idea to look at the offensive stats.
When talking about offense metrics, there's a lot to talk about. There will be many other ways (like the Pete Palmer route), multiple methods (like the route created by Bill James), Stats (Obp/SLG, WOBA, GPA, etc.), and many others. 。 Indeed, the statistics you choose should depend on the questions you are trying to answer. Anyway, let's explain what I did, rather than trying to look back on the history of evaluation.
Palmer route
This is basically a stats we calculate, which is written a little here. It should be very similar to the number on each live commentary page ("BTRNS" under the special bat) of baseball-reference. com. If you are not used to this, the process is actually very easy. Apply the player's stats (single hits, double hits, trilogy, etc.) to the formula, and put them on the corresponding numbers. In other words, if Milton Bradley is a 53 single, it will be . 47 times, then the doubles will be 0 times, 85 times. Finally, draw (out*).
3). The stealing base is added separately and simply becomes . 22*SB -. 38*CS.
The ultimate gain is the score of (or lower) the average created by the player in the play time.
Park adjustment
Of course, I want to adjust the park where players play in home games. To do this, hang the out number (. 286 in AL) a player's park factor. For example, in the case of Jason Baritech, the number of outs is not . 297 (. 286*1. 04). If you do this for each player, you can make a fairly appropriate park*adjustment. By the way, I used Patriot's Park Factors.
*This adjustment has a more complex and technical correct method. However, the difference is very small, so I am particular about simpler adjustment.
Good point
As I understand, linear weight type methods are the best for individual batters. Things like run creatures are elite run estimates, but they often exceed great batters because they interact with their teammates instead of clone orders (eg, there are nine Albert Pujols. And there is one Pujols and eight humans). In the batting order, there are nine Albert Pujols, but one Pujols and eight people). The created path assumes that the players interact outside the structural disk, but the pass is not.
And unlike OPS, which is probably the most popular stat on the internet, we actually know what root counts are! We know there is a difference between an OPS of 0, 800 and an OPS of . 900, but we don't really know how much a point of OPS is worth. The difference between 30 RBIs above average and, say, 20 RBIs in 400 PA is 10 RBIs. Very simple and easy to understand.
Limits
August 30, 2008 | Also, the weights I used here are long-term averages, not based on any particular situation. For example, if I wanted to know how many RBIs J. D. Drew added to the Red Sox, I would look at this problem and see something like an adjusted linear weight, not a team average. |
Ok, let's look at the numbers, because it's confusing. These are the top 15 hitters in each league:
AL NL 1st Rodriguez (NY) 38th 2nd Pujols (STL) 52th 2nd Bradley (Tex) 34th 4th Berkman (Hou) 47th 4th 3rd Sizemore (CLE) 32th 3. Jones (ATL) 42th 7th 4th Holliday (Columbia) 38. 11 5. Morneau (Min) 26th 7th Wright (NY) 30th 2nd Huff (Bal) 26th 2nd Utley (Phi) 27th 7th Kinsler (Tex) 26th 1st Lee (Ho) 26th 8th Hamilton (Tex) 25th 5th 10th 10th McCann (ATL) 26th 4th 11th Cabrera (Det) 24th 9th 11th Burrell (Phi) 26th 2nd 12th Youkilis (Bos) 24th 3rd 12th Gonzalez (SD) 24th 6th 13th Roberts (BAL) 23rd 5th 13th Brown (MIL) 23th 1st 14th Ramirez (BOS) 22nd 7th 14th Teixeira (ATL) 22nd 9th 15th Giambi (NY) 22nd 6th 15th Bay (Pit) 22nd 3rd
What are the worst 10?
AL NL 1st Peña (KC) -27. 0 1st Sanchez (Pitt) -23. 4 2nd Gomez (Min) -17. 9 2nd Francoeur (ATL) -21. 8 3rd Jojima (C) -17. 9 3rd Patterson (CIN) -21. 3 4th Betancourt (C) -15. 7 4th Visquel (SF) -21. 1 5th Cabrera (NY) -15. 6 5th Taveras (Col) -20. 4 6. Varitek (Boss) -14th 4 6. Vaughn (Hou) -19th 8 7. Bidlo (C) -14th 4 7. Jones (LA) -18th 6 8. Gutierrez (CLE) -14th 3 8. Green (SD) -17th 9 9. Marte (CLE) -13th 9 9. Peña (Wass) -17th 7 10. Bynum (Val) -13th 7 10. Young (Ali) -15th 8
Here is the spreadsheet for all players*:
*I excluded NL pitchers from my calculations. Of course, I realize now that I forgot to do the same for All (dammit, interleague play). I left them out for now, but hopefully it won't affect the final numbers too much (I really don't think it will).
Unlike the fielding spreadsheet, this one unfortunately doesn't update automatically. Anyway, feel free to play around and use the numbers however you like.
With all that's been said about hitting and fielders, we're getting close to a pretty decent player rating system. Enough is enough. But hopefully it will get you through this discussion on the forum and on the blog.
Next time I get my computer back safely, I'll dig a bit deeper into the fielder data available during hardball time.
*Thanks to the Patriot and Baseball Data Newsletter for helping me understand some things better.

The clock is ticking
Mark Hulett
Major League Baseball (MLB) organizations, including scouts, scoutmasters, and general managers, are undoubtedly as ferocious as a beehive hit by a hurricane. The deadline for signing amateur draft picks for 2008 is this Friday, August 15th.
With many of the remaining players expected to sign off waivers, MLB is encouraging teams to delay announcements until before the deadline to limit the impact on other negotiations. Even more surprising is the lack of whispers about pre-determined contracts that are just waiting for MLB approval. As the clock ticks, there are still many unknowns this year.
Here's what we don't know (unsigned players):
2. Pedro Alvarez (3B) Pittsburg (university selection) 3. Eric Hosmer (1B) Kansas City (High School Selection) 4. Brian Matus (LHP) Boltimore Orioles (University Selection) 5. Buster Poses (C) San Francisco Giants (University Selection) 7. Wonder Alonso (1B) Cincinnati Reds (University Selection) 9. Aaron Crow (HP) Washington Nationals (University Selection Yonder Alonso (1B) Cincinnati Reds (university selection) 9. Aaron Crow (RHP) Washington Nationals (University Selection)
Six of the top 10 nominated players have not been contracted, but I don't want to see them personally because they don't lead to the growth of the players. Hosmer, like the same pr e-plastic call, has received advice from Scott Borus Corporation. Hozmar will provide an exciting future, and you will be able to combine the 2007 draft first round, Mike Mustacas.
The moment Alvares signed up with Pittsburg, he could become a franchise player in Pittsburg, and he would provide many topics to fans (although the trade of Manny Ramirez was also helped). Matusz and Crow are far higher drafts in the draft, and are expected to have a contract with the major league, but Crow may not have negotiated with Washington and may not sign a contract.
Posey and Alonso require a backstop to polish promising stocks in a system with few impactful batters. Alonso will be a major leaguer in two years, but now a young Joey Bot is blocking the first base.
11th place Justin Smoke (1B) Texas Rangers (University Options) 20th place Josh Fields (RHP) Seattle Mariners (University Options) 23rd place Alan Daikstra (1B) Sandiero Paddles (university option) 28th (RHP) New York Yankees (High School Options)
Smoke is one of the most favorite players in the draft, so I want you to participate this year, but it may not be. So what is waiting for Fields? There is no option to return to college because of the old age, but if you do not sign a major contract, you may theoretically entangle the 2009 draft. Daikstra is the first baseman who is most likely not to sign a contract because his anxiety about his hip joints in high school has become bright and has a question about his physical strength. Nobody can contract if the Yankees can't contract with the call.
What is now clear is as follows (signed player):
1. Tim Beckham (IF) Tampa Bay Raise (High School Options) 6. Kyle Skipworth (C) Florida Marlins (High School Options) 8. Gordon Beckham (SS) Chicago White Socks (University Options) 10. Jason ・ Castro (C) Houston Astros (university option)
August 28, 2008 | 12. Gemir Weeks (2B) Auckland Athletics (College Options) 13. Blet Wallace (3B) St. Louis Cardinals (College Options) 14. Aaron Hicks (of) Minesota Twins (High School Options) 15. Ethan Martin (RHP) Los Angeles Athletics (College Options Ethan Martin (RHP) Los Angeles Dodgers (High School Option) 16. Blet Laurley (C) Milwaukee Bruchers (High School Options) 17. David Cooper (1b ) Toronto Blue Jays (University Options) 18. Ike Davis (1B) New York Mets (University Options) 19. |
Daniel Schules (LHP) Arizona Diamond Bucks (University Selection) 27. Carlos Gutiz (RHP) Minnesota Twins (university selection) 29. Ronnie Chizenhole (3B) Cleveland Indians (university selection) 30.

Perry is struggling with a professional carrier, and Detroit is rushing to rush from the system, so the ERA is 4. 26 in six games. He has 6, 1 starter for 6 hits and 4 balls. Friedrich pitched in 31 games in the Northwest League Colorado and allowed 27 hits and eight balls. He has also struck out of 42 batters. Gutierz, a surprise, has a good result of 19 hits and 6 balls with 16, 2 innings in the H i-E -team team. There are only 11 strikeouts, but they are inviting two outs per fly. Sleese has not yet allowed a goal with three reliefs.

I went to watch baseball last night
Patrick Sullivan
I've heard that many people mention this, but that's true. I don't know what will happen in baseball games. If you want to take time every night, you can see history.
Baseball season is long. Baseball games are wonderful. Baseball games require a lot of attention, and sometimes enthusiastic fans must pay more attention. I think it's strange that baseball writers and other baseball officials will announce the rankings as if "watching all innings" will improve their lives. Not only that, they are not all innings. Most of them only watch one team game. < SPAN> Daniel Shes (LHP) Arizona Diamondbucks (university selection) 27. Carlos Gutizes (RHP) Minnesota Twins (university selection) 29. Ronnie Chizenhole (3B) Cleveland Indian (university selection) 30.

I think it's strange that baseball writers and other baseball officials will announce the rankings as if "watching all innings" will improve their lives. Not only that, they are not all innings. Most of them only watch one team game. Daniel Schules (LHP) Arizona Diamond Bucks (University Selection) 27. Carlos Gutiz (RHP) Minnesota Twins (university selection) 29. Ronnie Chizenhole (3B) Cleveland Indians (university selection) 30.
Heavens currently in the short season, batting average . 263/. 359/. 500, 80 a t-bats. Hewitt is . 235/. 235/. 298/. 376. He is also suffering only 5 balls and 39 strikeouts. Kelly, the same high school student, has a batting average of . 169/. 200/. 246, 65 a t-bats. Chizenhol has a fou r-home run in . 272/. 333/. 426 and 195 a t-bats in the short season.
In the meantime, what rumors did you hear about unwanted nominated players?

I went to watch baseball last night

I've heard that many people mention this, but that's true. I don't know what will happen in baseball games. If you want to take time every night, you can see history.

The most baseball-savvy people I know who don't work in front offices work hard in many areas and value family time, exercise, golf, reading, etc. Using the DVR, getting the remote and the MLB Extra Annings package while online a few nights a week does the trick for me. I don't know, but I'm okay with the lack of clubhouse time and bad buffet food.
Baseball Beat | 1) Charlie Zink is the worst. I don't blame the Red Sox for giving him a shot. He had a 2. 89 ERA this year with Pawtucket when Tim Wakefield was taken out with an injury. That seemed reasonable enough. But his knuckler is barely a knuckle, he throws too many balls that don't get swings and whiffs, and he just doesn't seem to strike out enough batters to be effective. I want him to do his best, but I don't want to see him play on Fenway Hill in 2008. |
At first glance, you may think that Yukiris is a great candidate for a good agentless contract before acquiring the glove, but I don't think so. He has lowered 100 points higher than his career this season, and it is unlikely that he will be better at the age of 29. He has been dissatisfied with how Red Sox managed his service time in his career in the past, and he seems to be burning in his mission. He wants a big free agent contract. What if you were Red Socks?
-Extends him (for example, $ 40 million) and implements the risk of collapsing his incentive structure.
-There is to play for the past few years, and he needs to earn as much as one penny. The risk here is that the relationship between Euk and the club is broken, but what is more negative for Red Socks? Will his 32-37 season be robbed by the highest bidder? Well, that would be destined to endure.
If I'm Red Socks, I will participate every year until unlimited, with his ass lit. Then judge whether to participate in the promotion.

High school talent is heated up
By Rich Lederer
In the day's area code games final, Texas Rangers (Texas), the number one, defeated Milwaukee Bruchers Blue (South California) 4-2 and won four wins and 1 loss. Bruchers have lost two games in the last two games, but the only defeat of Rangers is that they lost to Auckland Athletics on Friday.
A total of 20 contests were held over six days at Blair Field in Long Beach. I had the opportunity to attend several of them and watch over 100 players showcase their talents and skills in front of hundreds of scouts. The players played five games each, took a player evaluation (SPARQ test) on Tuesday, and participated in the Scout MLB Banquet at the Long Beach Marriott on Wednesday.
Since its inception 22 years ago, many major leaguers have participated in the local code games, with highlights including current stars Ryan Braun, Prince Fielder, Dan Haren, Ryan Howard, Albert Pujols, C. C. Sabathia, and Grady Sizemore. Looking ahead, Tim Beckham (first overall pick in the 2008 draft by Tampa Bay), Kyle Skipworth (Fla, 6th), Aaron Hicks (Min, 14th), Brett Lowry (Mil, 16th), Anthony Hewitt (Phi, 24th), and Gerrit Cole (Nyai, 28th) all played in the area code games last summer.
Whether it was the wooden bats, the size of the pool, the coastal altitude, or just strong arms, the pitchers dominated hitters all week, as evidenced by a no-hitter in the opening game on Tuesday and a 0-0 relay in the morning game on the final day. While the pitchers' production was impressive, not all of the selected pitchers lit up the radar gun all week. Sure, there were a few pitchers who were in the low 90s, but most were in the mid to high 80s.
Many of the top players from the area code games also participated in the AFLAC All-American High School Baseball Classic held at Dodger Stadium on Saturday. The AFLAC games, which are nationally broadcast on FoxSports, tend to attract the best players, including those who did not play in the area code games. Unlike the area code games, all AFLAC players must have completed their senior year of high school to be eligible to participate. AFLAC participants are expected to "be in good academic standing and demonstrate on the field qualities that embody the ideals of the sport of baseball, including discipline, determination and hard work." The six-year-old AFLAC High School Classic has produced 52 first-round picks in the past five years.
Nine times, 2-0, East defeated Stirling Camback with four goals, including the finals of MVP Brian Goodwin (Rocky Mount HS, North Carolina). The outfielder on the left is also noticeable twice, and while the middl e-class Kirel Hudson (Evergreen HS, Washington, Washington) sold the Goodwin Quick Line Drive, the additional base was added in head play. It was impressive to take away.
Unlike the area code game, there were few fastballs in the Aflac game. The hardest one of them was Mycal Gighs. He only thrown two balls, the 96-mile fastball was left fly, and the 98-mile heater was 4-3. The Gibuns was released eight times in Austin Madox (View Academy, Florida). Austin was a pitcher who turned from the starting catcher (and straight), throwing a 1-1/3 inning and throwing a 91-96 miles.
A total of 26 strikeouts were recorded in the to p-class power arm, including five strikeouts of Seibu's starter Jicob Turner (Westminster Christian Academy, Missouri). The right arm of feet 4 and 205 pounds is a hit and four balls, and after starting the game with a four-ball, the pitching of 90-93 is 90-93. We interweaved.
The rest and simple comments of the remaining matchlock guns are described below (West → East).
